What is the winter weather in Argentina? |
I'm going to Argentina for 4 weeks in June/July...I'll spend most of the time in Cordoba, so I'm most concerned about the weather and temperature there. I'll also be in Buenos Aires, Mar de Plata, and Mendoza. I've been looking all over the internet for an average temperature and stuff, but I haven't found it. Tal vez un argentino me pueda ayudar? |

Is Winter but mild.
Cordoba is DRY, as you are near the hills, as Mendoza near the Andes.
Mar del Plata, humid, on the Atlantic Ocean Coast (and colder than Buenos Aires or Cordoba)
Buenos Aires, humid but changes a lot.

It depends where you are from.
Since Argentina is located in a North South direction from the Tropic down to the pre-antartic circle you will find a large range of temperatures even the same day. I have been in Oran (Tropic) in winter time and endured 31C whereas the same day in Ushuahia (Far south) the poor guys suffered -15C with -45 widchill.
I would be prepared to be exposed to an average of -5C, there is always time to dress off if the temperatures are higher.
Que lo disfrutes. |

Don't worry you won't freeze to death in Argentina like when I was in Toronto many years ago.
Those places you're going to are not cold. Argentinian winter is considerably mild. It rains a lot though. Temp never dips down to 32F. Unless you go down south to Bariloche or the Land of Fire in the way south, yes you'd freeze to your bones. |

Hi...
Well, in Cordoba the weather is not very cold, but it's very dry. In Mar del Plata there is 10°C, 9°C, and in Mendoza, just about that. |

Bs. As. and Cordoba will be cool during that time, but you won't probably see snow. I can't say temperatures, but you'll probably have frost a couple of nights, and that will be as cold as it gets. As for clothing, during the day jeans and a long sleeve shirt, with a jacket at night... |
