Well.. I live in Bs.As. and I have to say that this is like any other european city, although it's not that modern and efficient (public services). You could compare it to Rome about the argentinians way of life; our visitors say that Bs.As is just like it, and that argentinians speak a strange spanish with italian accent.
As you should know, Argentina goes (with some highlights) from a crisis to another one.
About the teens, I have to say that they follow the social flow and there are of those who do nothing of their lives and the ones who study and work. Lately, things around them have became a bit violent, but I think that situation is being overstated by the media.
About people, you just have to know that we're very talkative (guess you already realize that by now) specially with foreing people, you won't have trouble to make friends.

Halo! I live in Buenos Aires, and as long as you have an open mind you will have NO trouble meeting people. The people are so friendly, love to talk which is a good way of knowing where the "hot spots" are, and for networking and connections!
Seriously, the people are very warm and welcoming, especially to foreigners, I am sure that if you are confident, patient and willing to try, you will meet great friends!
