Can anyone tell me if its hard to get a work visa in Argentina? I've heard Mexico is not so hard and Spain is quite hard.

In Argentina is possible to work without a work visa, even if not legal. To start the procedure to get the work visa, get in touch with Customers once there, if in the local Argentinian Embassy you cannot find the information you want.
As happens in many countries that are trying to survive a huge crisis, you will find easily a work permit through " gestores", in other words, people with the necessary contacts to speed up a long and tedious work every time you pay what they request. Call it corruption if you want, they say is free-market.
Usually is necessary to obtain first a temporary or permanent staying permission in order to request a work visa in Argentina and for that you would need to submit your birth certificate, if married the marriage license, a certificate issued by the FBI if American that testifies your lack of criminal records, a recent copy from every page of your passport all translated to Spanish by an Argentinian accepted translator.
So far, if you really want to go there and get a job, try the easier way in the meanwhile you go for the longer. It would not be difficult that you meet a beautiful person there if single to get married with....
Just a little detail, check the information I am giving you before anything, since legislations are changing continuously over there.
Good luck!

I don't know about the work visa, but I know the people there do not have jobs and it is very difficult at this time.
