Would you recommend driving from Buenos Aires to Cordoba and Mendoza?

I am planning on going to Argentina for 2 weeks and planning on spending about 5 days in Buenos Aires, then going to Iguazu Falls for 2 days. We are considering then taking 7 days to drive from Buenos Aires to Cordoba to Mendoza and then back to Buenos Aires seeing places along the way. Is this a pretty drive? Is it too far to drive/how many hours? Would you recommend it or would you recommend flying instead?

no i do not recommend driving. many roads you will be taking are one way in either direction and other drivers pass when the feel like it. night driving is almost impossible, due to bad, or no lighting. if you get a flat or run out of gas, you will be in the middle of no where.VERY DANGEROUS. also a note..do you have an international driver's license? outside the city of BA, a tourist is supposed to have one.
yes, there are areas that are scenic, but a lot of the drive will be through the Pampas. the Pampas are literally flat lands, as flat as you can imagine. barely a tree. you will see a lot of cows and empty fields, especially this year due to the horrible drought the Pampas has had..
Cordoba is about 8-10 hours Buenos Aires
Mendoza about 24 hours from Buenos Aires
take a plane, or they also have charter buses with experienced drivers that know the roads.

I would recommend not driving. Sure, it is very pretty and scenic, but it can also be very dangerous. While Argentina is an incredible place, if you pan on driving around the country, you might as well write yourself a ticket. It may seem more expensive, but there are many different ways to get good deals on local flights in Argentina, including this website that allows you to talk to real people via Chat to help you find the best deals: http://www.bsas4u.com/bsas-iguazu-internal-flight-p-160.html

It may seem like a little more expensive, but you will find that it is well worth it. Also, you save a lot of time, meaning you get more time to see the beautiful falls and everything else that Iguazu has to offer.

Good Luck!
