That's delusional. There are no socio-econo-political fundamentals to support such a ridiculous claim...probably using the same though process that led you to pick your avatar name. |

if we can feed all our corrupt politicians to the crocodiles or piranhas. |

What is the difference between the Phillipines and the United States of America?
$5 000 000 000 000 of borrowed money. The last 2 trillion came from the Saudis. |

Well I believe it's true. The country will have a new set of leaders next year (if cha-cha will not be passed btw). Happy 2009 Philippines! :)) |

Optimism is good, but it should be realistic also.
Six years is too short to make RP a developed nation. To begin with, you have to get rid of all corrupt politicians, including those who have so become dependent to their milking cows, I mean position, that they want to change the Constitution of the land.
Our country has so many problems. Hoping they will all be taken care of within 6 years is, painful but true, impossible. If you want to dispute this, do come back and participate in nation building. |

Yes! If politicians in the Philippines break their new year's resolution.
Happy New Year to all! :) |

That is an impossible dream. Most answers here put the blame on the politicians without thinking WHO VOTED THEM IN time and time again.
The common Filipino has to change his/her total indifference first before the country is able to move forward. |

I hope so, but I highly doubt it. That's just way too early. It's already 2009 and 2015 is just 7 years away. I think it takes more than 7 years to fix our economy. |

I'm feeling optimistic today so I would have to agree. Even if it's not in six years, we have to greatly improve. We have to. |

I would love to say it's true but there would have to be some fundamental changes and magic.
1. Cut down on air pollution
2. Forbid discrimination on employment because of age, race, sex, religion, or national origin. Also physical handicap so long as reasonable accomodation could be made.
3. Create jobs so that your most valuable resource would stop leaving the country to find work.
I don't know of any first-world countries whose major source of income is from remittances from other countries. |

nothing is impossible. before they say terrorists cannot attack the US. what happened in 9/11? US recession is now on its longest toll... China is the next big thing, who ever thought about that 20 years ago?
No one. Philippines may be a small country but I know it will boom in the next 15 years... |
