leave it..then the cleaner picks it up..they get paid for a reason

Ryuzaki "L" The KiD
leave it. maybe for western country but in Malaysia, if you do that, they will say that you are "Kekampungan".
this is the same condition when you sleep in the hotel and when you are leaving, you do the job that the cleaner will do later. Erm.. you didnt wash the glass or plate after having your meal in restaurant rite?
but, who cares.. just do wat you want..

♦Chimera Meerkat♦
It depends on the restaurant / stall & countries lah like you said in Western countries they tend to throw their own waste.
Because over there the bin, facilities to throw the waste & put the trays & recycle bins are there available.

In Malaysia, usually only certain schools (e.g. the ones I attended - primary, high school, college as well) & government institute/agency (e.g. I.N.T.A.N) ready tables, pails/ containers to place their dirty dishes, rubbish bin & sink nearby to wash the hand.

Usually at typical stalls e.g. mamak..dn't tell me u go throw your rubbish. Sometimes u dnt even knw where's the rubbish bin it's either outside in another corner of the road or deep behind the kitchen area. Else it's the one in toilet.
Another thing food & unwanted waste either it's plastic & etc. ain't recycled due to the cost of recycling & processing itself. Most fast food e.g KFC, Mc D's, A & W - d'same.

But usually whether I'm regular or not. I usually use the same tissue I used earlier thn. put it on the place or use it to push the bones/rubbish to the plate thn stack it along my fellow diners' plate. Easier for the "cleaner" & next client to use the place faster & better.

me just leave it on tray.! the worker are paid for the job task.

McDonalds has us programed to throw out our own garbage (even though they hire staff to clean the eating area).

I leave my tray and garbage on the table because I pay too much for that crappy food. Also, If they hire someone to clean, then their wages are included in the cost of my food. If I were eating in any other restaurant my waste gets removed for me.

Why should I do McDonalds any favors when their restaurant is responsible for creating so much garbage?

I throw it out but some don't, they leave it for the staff to collect. Where I live in Canada we have a real labour shortage. Last time I went to McDonalds they were so busy and short staffed that people had to bus their own tables. They had a spray bottle and cloth out to wash off your own table. Most people thought it was quite funny, I didn't hear one person complain as we all know the situation. Fast food places can't compete with the oil companies when it comes to wages.

Just leave it there because we are charged for SERVICE CHARGE .. what is the point of being charged for service charge if we dont use their service?? :)

I KNOW that people are generally more considerate and civic conscious in Western Europe, North America (incl N Zealand, Australia) and with the exception of Japan and S Korea, the rest of the world still lag behind in this department - they do as they please with little or no consideration for others.

I ALWAYS put the rubbish in the bin.
At least the table is clear for the next customers if it is busy and the cleaners can't get there in time to wipe it clean. The cleaners are there to make sure the tables and chairs are wiped down and clean and tidy but they shouldn't have to clear away your rubbish as well. You don't leave dirty plates on your table at home so why do that outside? Are you so lazy that you can't pick up and put away you own rubbish?

It is a good habit to have.

(When I say "you" I mean collective "you"' not YOU the asker)

usually we pitch our own. even back in malaysia I did that.
it's a habit like.. after finishing a meal at home...pick up after ourself..and we take turns doing dishes. that's how our younger days like.

just left it on your table

hushpuppy
i always chuck them in the bin, in and out of the country.
even before i started working as a cleaner in restaurants.
now that i have to deal with messy kids and adults alike, i truly feel for the cleaners who have to pick up customers' waste.

by doing that little extra - ie dump your own rubbish - you are guaranteed to put a smile on the workers there. why not?

well I leave my pate on the table with rubbish and the people from the restaurant clean it up.
