No sweetie not all, although you are right saying that you notice/ see girls staying longer looking themselves in the mirror inside the restroom of the malls.I saw that too.
I am full blooded Filipina and I careless about my looks, what I only make sure and a must for me is I look clean not just look but stay neat.I can strike into the shower for only 5 minutes,LOL powder and lip gloss could be enough for me. |

Why is it always about insecurity, when a girl or even a guy actually cares to look proper and good for herself and the people around her. I never understood that. It's not always about insecurity. My fiancee likes to dress up, put light makeup, and smell good. She's carefree and she doesn't have one insecure bone in her body when it comes to her looks. She's proud of her looks and she simply takes care of it.
Maybe the ones who are insecure are the ones passing judgments on to others by questioning their confidence. Oh look she's brushing her hair! She must be insecure.....! Ridiculous. |

Yeah, I've noticed that too but I don't blame them. Maybe their work requires them to put on make-up or maybe the occassion calls for it.
As for me, lip balm and talc makes me ready to face my day.
Simplicity is beauty... *winks* |

i would prefer women to be without make up but because of the over promotion of beauty products(a billion dollar industry), a lot of women are hooked. |

Well, staying in front of the mirror really fascinates me. I never do that. Once I stepped out of the house, I simply go on without bothering myself to look at the mirror. Although it's part of the so-called "good grooming". But staying longer in front of the mirror would mean that the mirror must shout at them for that means there is the tendency of having insecurities on their part. |

lets blame it all in the humid weather, wearing make up with this condition is really a challenge with all the sweats and dust you get outside.i admire those who take extra effort to look good,,,i think its more proper to check on yourself in the powder room than doing it anywhere else.being insecure has nothing to do with this but good hygiene does. |

not wrong - accurate is more like it. truth is, women (not just filipinas) deal with a huge amount of imperfections so i guess we make up for it by focusing on our appearance. i personally do get frustrated by the crowded restrooms too but well, if it makes others feel good about themselves, so be it, right? |

There are girls who perfectly look good even without make ups or just a lil blush on and a powder will look good on them already. And I appreciate and admire those kind of girls. Unlike those who put make up so heavily and which it makes them like
a clown in a children's party.
Simple is beautiful for me. |

Advertising.......multi billion global industries try to make people feel less than they are if they don't use the product being sold. From cars and aftershave for guys to weight loss and make-up products for girls worldwide, and......unique in the Phil i think, brain food for kids!!
All the adverts show aspirational situations nothing like normal life and make some people feel insecure if they don't live up to the aspirational "ideal"
I think Filipinas care too much probably because they are so sensitive to what people comment on appearance. |

Every women does that, not just Filipinas. If you've been to the states before then you should have notice that. Do not generalized just Filipinas because all females are concerned on how they look and insecure about something. |

Its just their mentality about it all really. I mean Filipinos dare I say are the type of people who do care what people think about them more so than compared to others. Even though they don't want to admit it, to a large degree its very true. I'm sure those girls aren't insecure they just care about how they look. They probably don't get enough comments about the way they look so thats probably why they go through so much effort. |
