Yes. I live in the Philippines. We have some of the best beaches and diving spots in the entire world. Go to El Nido or anywhere in Palawan and you are sure to enjoy so much and return with so many stories to tell. Plus you can buy so many things because things are so cheap when compared to prices anywhere in the world. Wherever in the world you go you won't be able to find a place with stuff as cheap as the Philippines |

I live here in the Philippines. I'll tell you, if you ignore all the trash and pollution the Philippines is a great place (there are tons of snatchers and robbers here so if you go here please be careful) |

I have. It is indeed a beautiful country with some spectacular landscape and beaches. Better still it has some wonderful people too. Many there have a standard of living well below that of western countries but still manage to maintain a sense of proportion and optimism. Unlike many in the west, they are willing to share even if they have to go without themselves. They have a real pride in themselves and their country and will go out of their way to help you.
I guess I'm biased - I'm married to a Filipina! |

I'm in from the Philippines!!
It's really nice out here, especially the people and the beautiful places out here.. specially in Mactan Island (its in cebu) or you can go to the northern part or southern part of cebu, and its also great hanging out in palawan(that's in mindanao), if you are looking for relaxation... I insist you go to these places!!!!!, but unfortunately its not that nice in Manila(capital city) the worse traffic is present there, I tell you, :)
Let me know if you have decided to visit here, I can be your tour guide for FREE!!!!!!!!!!! I'm looking forward to see you soon,, :) |

the philippines and its people are the most beautiful in the world. it's so hard to put into words how this unique country can be so beautiful and yet there are elements in society that by their own actions, put down the efforts of the majority to make this country a premier tourist destination. the people here are so warm, well a majority of them.
You get some who think that since your a foreigner, your a cash cow. or you s*+t money. maybe it's the overwhelming poverty. I try to understand where they are coming from. anyway, my tip, get out of manila as soon as you can. there are so many beautiful places outside of manila. be aware of nice looking girls who are too friendly. these are (most of the time) members of gangs who drug tourist and steal their belongings, e.g. money, jewelry. be street smart. thats all i can say.
you must try the food, its unique but most of the time its great. i love the street foods. like "fish ball"...
also watch out for pickpockets as they abound. con-artists...plenty of them, they even operate in cahoots with some hotel employees.
when you check in at major hotels, do your best not to give them any contact details like cell phones because they can use this as means of contacting you, say middle of the night and try to extort money from you by making up stories of threats against you.
when you check in at major hotels try your best to get the direct contact details of the general manager. so as, if there are any concerns you can contact him directly.
also be wary of taxi drivers who refuse to use their meters. insist that they do.
also, try to get the hotline of your respective embassies. if there's any trouble at least they can send someone over. most of the embassies are in the City of Makati where the major hotels are located.
be wary of your surroundings, the people around you. be careful in dealing with people. they're like wolves, they travel in packs and they'll pounce on you from all angles thus confusing you.
the secret be street smart and don't be too flashy. it's good to be friendly but be cautious!!! |

Most Filipinos have a very positive attitude, despite a lot of crisis happening in the country. The political situation here is not really stable and that sometimes hinders the nation's progress.
But Filipinos get by what they have and the country is really promoting its tourism industry.
When it comes to beautiful places, the country has lots of it. Dive site, pristine beaches, caves, heritage sites etc. And almost all Filipinos can speak and understand English, so tourists would have no difficulty interacting with the locals.
If you want to experience authentic Filipino culture, I would strongly suggest that you go the provinces and small cities, as they're where the Filipino charm really comes from.

A truly beautiful, and often times underappreciated and underrated country.
The beaches can be as beautiful as any other beach in the world, the people are friendly, the prices are cheap, and the weather is great.
If you're looking for beauty in terms of landscape, people and culture...look no further. |

i think the most beautiful thing about the philippines would be the people - maybe not physically, but in the heart. only there will you find a nation of people with such an infectious sense of humor amidst crisis after crisis. |

Oh, when it comes to NATURE and food, philippines is the best. You'll love shopping at the malls, too - quality products (clothes, footwears, etc.) at very affordable prices. And you can easily relate to local people because most of them know english. Just be careful not to trust someone you dont know, ask a friend to accompany you when you stroll around. You'll surely enjoy the place! |

The Philippines is a beautiful country, im lucky as I travel to the Philippines once a month to go flying and hence I get to see it from the sky....flying into the Pinatubo volcano crater, following the coastline of Eastern Luzon, navigating the mountains on your way up to Bagio....breathtaking. |

my uncles emigrated there, it is nice but if you get caught with cannabis you get hanged (bit excessive i think) and if you have tattoos it means youve been in jail (my uncle has loads but never been in prison) but on the upside its 30 pence for a litre of beer. |
