Americans will surely be happy to have the Philippines as one of its states because Philippines is so rich in natural resources and beautiful scenic spots which they do not have. Besides, if the Philippines will become a state of American, I am sure, Filipinos will be treated like Mexicans.
GOD SAVE THE PHILIPPINES!!!!!! I love my own native land, Philippines, my Philippines.....GOD BLESS YOUR PEOPLE. |

I most respectfully submit that Americans would be delighted to be part of the Philippine Republic.
Think of all the taxes they could avoid paying!!!
---- Add: And think of the Five Star Hotels, like Manila Peninsula, they could occupy without paying!! |

Not all Filipinos want to be part of America. There's the traditionalists, the nationalists, the patriots who prefer to remain citizens of the Philippines. |

First off, I believe you meant to ask: "Would the Philippine people ever be thankful to be one of the states in the United States of America?" And in answer to your question: The last time they voted to become a state, it failed miserably. |

We would be thankful if US help us rebuild just like they help rebuild Japan after World War 2. In the other hand, damned those nationalist and patriots who qouted "Its better to be run by Filipinos like hell than to run by the Americans like heaven". Manuel L. Quezon quoted that, what happened to him? He died luxurious in U.S. while Philippines is at war with Japan. |

Maybe a very few Filipinos might be thankful but the vast majority would look at it as a new form of colonialism, just with a new label. While there would be an influx of money and a lot of current problems (graft, corruption, poverty, economic development.... etc) would be reduced or eliminated..... Filipinos are too proud to tolerate subjugation ....AGAIN........no matter what label you put on it. |
