Asian-Pacific Islanders people... Also Malaysian... One time on application form for US citizenships, White (back in the 80's)...

Asia is one of the continents, and in its continent are called Asian - Pilipinos, Japanese, Indians, Malaysians, Indonesians, Chinese...

Africa is another continent, and in its continent are Nigerians, Egyptians, Algerians, Moroccans...

North America is another, so Canada are North American, also.

South America is another one...

tell her that the philippines is located in the asain continent it is located at the southeast asia to be exact so of course filipinos are asian ...now if she is not convinced with that tell to read book about geography and sudy about continents...infact there alot of chinese businessman or chinese owned establishment here in the philippines there is alo a chinese community here that we call the china town its because chinese can enter the philippines easily because it is part of asia...or if she is not yet convinced dont waste your time on such an idiot individual like her...

A Pacific Islander is a term to describe the inhabitants of any of the three major sub-regions of Oceania: Polynesia, Melanesia and Micronesia. These three regions, together with their islands consist of:

Polynesia: The islands scattered across a triangle covering the east-central region of the Pacific Ocean. The triangle is bounded by the Hawaiian islands in the north, New Zealand in the west, and Easter Island in the east. The rest of Polynesia comprises Samoa (American Samoa and Western Samoa), the Cook Islands, French Polynesia (Tahiti and The Society Islands, Marquesa Islands, Austral Islands, and the Tuamotu Archipelago), Niue Island, Tokelau and Tuvalu, Tonga, Wallis and Futuna, and Pitcairn Island.

Filipinos are Asian.

The predominant Filipino race (the Malays) migrated to the Philippines from the Malay Peninsula millenia ago. Looking at the globe, it's obvious to see that anyone who would think that Malays aren't Asian must've thrashed their head on the cupboard as a kid.

Now, why would anyone not classify the Filipino as Asian? There would be many reasons, but for the same reasoning you could also conclude that the Japanese aren't Asian.

No their Filipino and/or Asian. So you mean to tell me if someone was born in California they would be known as Pacific Coast or New York Atlantic Coast? "Oh so what are you since your born in Cali? Well I'm Pacific Coast." How stupid is that!

Hooo boy..... Philippines are part of Southeast Asia, so Filipinos are Asian. BUT ~ Originally, they came from the pacific islands making them of Pacific Islander descent.

Just to confuse you more, some sources list Philippines as part of Australasia.

The Philippines is in Asia, which makes us Asians. However, technically the country is also made up of islands located in the Pacific, so we can be considered Pacific Islanders as well (although some may say Pacific Islanders are only those originating from the islands of the Pacific such as the Samoans, Hawaiians, Fijians, etc). So really it depends on how you look at it.

Technically, any country in that area is Asian, so Indians are Asians and as are Filipinos. They are Pacific Islanders as well b/c they are from islands in the Pacific (obviously), like Taiwanese people are Pacific Islanders, too.

We are Asian but we are Pacific Islanders too..but the people in the PH most commonly think we are Asians and not Pacific Islander..cool right?hehhe
