Good question Mr Krab. The question may sounds funny but it bring a major differences for Muslim.
If Penguin is a bird - we have to slaughter / sembelih them to eat.
If Penguin is a fish - we don't have to sembelih them
If Penguin you mean is the Batman's enemy - It's haram to eat.
If you mean kasut jenama penguin - also haram to eat.
*i think i have to think again ... first ..can we eat penguin? .. hmm |

What's a penguin ?
A short-legged flightless bird of cold southern regions (Antarctica and sub-antarctic islands) having webbed feet and wings evolved as flippers.
they are so cute!!!! but here is a fact or two for you...
The earliest known fossils of penguins were found in Peru. The 80cm tall Perudyptes devriesi living 42 million years ago and the more impressive but more recent Icadyptes salasi, 150cm 36 million years ago. and....The first animal called penguin was a flightless bird of the Arctic sea, also known as the Great Auk, which was very similar to a penguin in anatomy, although from a different order of birds. It was hunted to extinction in the 1600s. Then when later explorers discovered similar animals in the southern seas, they named them the same way. The word itself has muddy origin; it originally seemed to mean 'fat one' in spanish/portuguese, and may come from either the Welsh 'pen gwyn' (white head), from the Latin 'pinguis' (fat) or from a corruption of 'pin-wing' (pinioned wings).
Hope that helps!!!! |
