Yes they are. Sometimes the region is called "Oceania", but they're almost always considered Asian.

Asian yes, because they are located in SE Asia but due to the island geography of the country, often refered to as Pacific Islanders. As a group they are know as Phipino's.

Yes of course they are Asians since their country is in "Asia" Filipinos would not argue the point but / but do not call them "Orientals" as I mistakenly did. I used the same logic" the country is in Asia ; they are Asian. The country is in the area once called the Orient so they are "Orientals" But the group I told this too was none too happy. So, Asian -yes ; Oriental - no (even if they are in the area once known as the Orient !)

to contradict czar's answer, filipinos are not only asians because of location of the philippines.actually some things about the philippine culture are from the influence of neighboring countries and we actually came from tribing malays,i think.(sorry, my history's blurry)

YES!!! im from the philippines. im a filipino and im an asian... just because the philippines is composed of islands dosent mean their asian... what about indonesia. thein also a group of islands. are they pacific islanders or asian? what about japan? the same thing. a group of islands. are they pacific isalanders or asians?

Every one living in Asia is considered Asian..Us filipinos, Chinese and Japanese..we're all asian. so, the answer is yes.
