Yes!! Remember that Newport Rhode Island was one of the busiest U.S. Naval Base. The base still open because of the existence of theWar College. If you know the history of the U.S. Navy then you will know that they recruited heavily in the Philippines from the 50's until late 80's.

actually ihave a friend in high school who moved to Rhode Island when we were 14 years old. I think she still lives in Rhode Island

I think there are Filipinos who "live" in Rhode Island, at least those who are in the military, although they may not live there permanently.

I am certain there are. Some are probably military from the naval bases around Newport. Others are likely transplants from the Boston and New York city areas.
