Are there really swingers here in the Philippines?

I'm just curious if this type of lifestyle is being practiced by modern couples already here. What are the benefits and disadvantages of it? Would you allow yourself or your partner to be in that lifestyle as well?

FIRST My bonafides....I have known swingers.....watched their relationships.....even participated on a limited level.

I am making my observations unemcombered by religious dogma. We all know what the church thinks of this activity.

Generally humans are not socially or psychologically suited to this promiscuous lifestyle. They may think they are; obviously they even want to be,but it always turns out badly.
A man who has multiple lovers is a "macho stud"; while woman who does the same thing is a "slutty whore". ??

It is possible to passionately "love" two people at the same time. The stress, confusion and inevitable pain of that situation is heart rending. Because humans are very insecure, jealeousy always raises it's ugly head. For many people, particularly women, sexual satisfaction gets confused with love and that usually is a poor basis for a lasting relationship.

Men are slightly more adept at promiscuity than women. From childhood men are expected to have "lots of girlfriends" (plural); whereas girls are asked if they have "a boyfriend" (singular). We are culturally conditioned for certain roles. The full impact of this conditioning is that when we deviate from these traditional roles we develop guilt and self image problems.

Then there is the ugly spector of Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD). There is no such thing as safe sex. Even the much tauted condom is only 98% effective. That means if you have condom sex 100 times you risk two failures. Those failures might be the last two trysts or the first two. You never know when the condom will fail. You risk pregnancy and disease. Diseases can be anything from the ubiquitous yeast infection through a long list of progrssively worse diseases to the fatal HIV. How would you like to decide whether you have a horrendous abortion or raise the child of a man you barely know or be a father to someone elses love child?

I have never known where swinging turned out well. I saw it destroy several marriages. Bordom is an enevitable problem in most relationships / marriages. The solution is fixing the relationship not looking elsewhere. A marriage is like a beautiful flower garden. It takes lots of work to keep it alive and beautiful.

It's just for open-minded couples where you wear masks and undergo clinical test first. It's just like going to a spa. After that, nothing more nothing less. No big deal

It's an exclusive group where they screen the couples first. You get a lot of coded invitation letters before you can deduce the venue and time....

Hehehe. Joke only!

In my observation from visiting the Philippines annually, I don't think that this kind of lifestyle will exist for a long period of time, but I do believe that "polyamory" lifestyle exist and currently being practiced.

go KOJAK!!

personally i don't think a real pinoy who was raised & lived in a predominantly catholic country like ours (ph) will engage in swinging. i think so. i see long term disadvantages and short term banefits (such as moments of sexual gratification if swinging is your fantasy).

orlee d
I think almost all of us have fantasies about making it with another person other than your partner. We almost made it with another couple until,my partner and I chickened out at the last minute. We thought that respect for each other might be lost if we went on with it.

The modern Filipino couples, I guess, who have little respect for the sanctity of marriage. Either that or they just want to perk up their married life by indulging in such a promiscuous activity. I think it is akin to "swapping" which is done in the US and in some parts of Europe. Gets the boredom out of their lives. There are no advantages, only disadvantages.

diana
maybe there are....but I'm against on the idea....

jojo234
Hahaha There are lots of swingers in the school yards and play grounds, they can be found anywhere there is a swing and or ropes and vines to swing on hahaha

Wow.... wise mo talaga Mang Kojak! ^^

I'd just like to add a few things to what Mang Kojak said.

I believe in the sanctity of marriage, for marriage is one of the biggest things that can prove your love, loyalty, and commitment to your partner.
