Yes I am!
And I find it weird that there are SOME Filipinos that are too ashamed to admit that they are from the wonderful land of the Philippines. Its more degrading for me to find people who would like to be part of other race instead of being Filipinos, than the insane issues lurking in the land. |

I work abroad and I am sometimes mistaken for Malaysian, Japanese and even Afghan. I always reply "No, I am a Filipino." |

I am 110% proud of being Filipina. It matters how you're being brought up with your parents and the good morals that has been instilled in one's mind when it's just a child and not the race itself. |

Yes.
Even if Manny gets beat up by Dela Joya (knock on wood). Even if Charice should happen to croak in one of her singing engagements on American TV. Even if GMA says "I am Sorry" again. Even if our soldiers take over another 5-star hotel again.
Even if Kris Aquino finds herself another basket player. Even if Joey De Leon himself commits breaking/entering Willy Revillame's home. Even if the former Speaker's son loses all his hair, and the First Daughter falls for him.

I am proud to be a Filipino. It's the TRAPOs that make our government bad that I'm 100% ashamed of. |

oh I just love! the Philippines :o) nothing feels more like home after being away for some time. On one of my overseas trip, a local approached me when she saw my passport. She excitedly told me that one of her closest friend is a Filipina ;D Nobody can beat our amiable character anywhere in the world! |

I have not yet failed to be say that I am of Filipino descent as that is what & who I am, whatever nationality I have right now & whatever country & flag I pledge allegiance to. And yes you might say that I am proud to be a Filipino by birth & race.
The only thing that I see wrong sometimes is that a few Filipinos have a perverted view of their Filipino Pride as they call it.
Sometimes becoming arrogant or haughty as well as exhibiting disdainful conduct & having an excessive emotional aloftness to expressing their affinity to whoever is currently a well-known Filipino.
And some do have an excessively high opinion of one's self, often manifesting on attitudes bordering on racism. |

100% Pilipina. I am an international student here in LA and I always tell my classmates that I came from Philippines because some of them think I am Vietnamese or Thai. I want the world to know that Philippines can produce someone who can compete globally. |

get frustrated somtimes that as I am here overseas bacially being all proud of my Filipino lineage, so many of the Filipinos back in the Philippines are patronizing the western or American culture. I am proud of our unique culture and traditions we have like "mano po," the utter respect for the elderlies, the friendliness of our neighbors, and our delicious food. As I watch TFC though, a lot of these celibrities try to attain a western aura like whenever they speak english the entire time and whenever they basically idolize the western goods. It saddens me so much. My friends sometimes ask me about Filipino culture, and I tell all these great unique stories of my childhood, but now I think with the internet having America so handy and close within reach, our Filipino culture is little by little assimilating with the western world. You guys might be all outraged by what I'm saying, but come on, it's HAPPENING.
In the end though, I am proud to be a Filipino. I am one, and I should be proud of that. Being a Filipino, you just have that warmer heart and more gracious character (for the most part). Even though in foreign countries, we are seen as domestic helpers (yung mga tig-)or laborers, at least we work very hard for our money and we are willing to do it for our family. |

It is the highest form of racism - to be ashamed of one's own race.
One may feel embarrassed with his fellowmen's vices and wickedness, but should never be humiliated of his own lineage. |

proud of what exactly? being world class (whatever the heck that means!)? LOLz
all nationalities on this planet will claim to have pride in whatever it is they think is uniquely theirs, but overall, every godd*amn human being out there is a schmuck just like the one standing next to him. so in the end, this is what it boils down to: what you think is unique, another person will think 'strange'. filipinos to me are STRANGE.
