the ride in from the airport. in a car with the thick aircon. that's when everything comes rushing back. the jeepneys. the tricycles. the GIGANTIC billboards. the people selling cigarettes from car to car. JOLLIBEE. the garbage on the streets. it's all in the car ride in. you see everything. and you feel like you were never gone.
oh and of course, the moment when every guy starts hitting on you even though you look gross and sweaty, and your only in shorts a t-shirt and a ponytail. they still think you're BEAUTIFUL.
hahah, i love that. |

Someone to get your bags, fetch you a cab, whatever you want for a small fee. Anyplace else, you're on your own. I kinda like being "served" instead of being ignored. Besides, those people need to make an income too. So, we help each other. |

"Tagalog ang usapan ng mga tao." Tagalog is spoken by most of the people around me.
"Iba ang simoy ng hangin." There's just something different in the air...it's like the smell of home sweet home.

Nothing fancy from me. "I really am in the Philippines now" when the pilot announces that we have landed in Manila, thankyou for flying PAL. |

For me when everything seems smaller (even the water bottle) and then when I got out of the airport there were so many people and it was so hot. It was nice to visit though, everything is so inexpensive. |

like when i went back home a year and a half ago, I was wearing a light sweater aboard the plane. Once we landed and were filing out all throughout the baggage claim, I was just sweating like piggie, and it was nasty! that's when i looked at my mom and said, "talagang nasa Pinas na tayo!"..
About 10 minutes after that, while waiting for my sister to come pick us up, my mom told me to go buy a phonecard from the vending machine. On my way there though, unsure of what type I should get, I saw a bunch of guys who looked like airport workers taking a break and decided to ask them which one would work best. After asking, one of them told me, "ganda ganda naman ni maam! tutulungan kita maam, pero isang ngiti naman muna o?" it was so tacky I couldn't help but laugh to myself and i thought about the fact that I'm really back home.. talaga nga namang only in the Philippines! ☺ |

when a plane enters philippine territory, all passengers shift their language from english to pilipino. pag nagsasalita na ng tagalog ang mga pasahero, malapit na kayo sa manila. |

When the people start to clap and hoot "yes, nasa Pinas na ko!". And after leaving the airport, and I see the streetfood vendors with their sticks of quek-quek and fishballs. ^_^ |

What Bob and Bill O said.
Plus when you exit the NAIA and you have to find the letter of your last name where your friends/relatives will be waiting.
I think that's cool and an easy way to organize the chaos.
And Cherie is right too. Guys are pigs, but I'm glad some women like it, because I do it too. |

When I exit the airport and Im immediately swamped by women carrying babies with their hands held out! The philippines is one of the worst "beggar" countries Ive ever been too. India, Bangladesh, Somalia fall into this list. |
