One full month? Single? In my wet dreams, I would go to Thailand. From Chiang Mai in the north to Phuket in the south with stops in Bangkok, Pattaya and maybe Koh Samui. Maybe take a trek into Laos or Cambodia. Check out the sources below for further info. Biking, hiking, scuba diving, bungee jumping, horse back riding, etc.
Married? Thailand, maybe Malaysia or India depending on your interest in history. |

Thailand. I have not gone toThailand but I know people who go there every year. I have seen their photos and they do not stop talking about it. I do not know how things are after the coup. |

Okay Daniel....Go to Ang Thong Island which is near by Koh Samui in Thailand. There is always non-stop full moon party there. You can have the diving or snorkeling activities during day time but you will not afford to miss this night...the "Full Moon Party". Lots of booze...loud music...dancing on the beach....etc. Not only tourists from oversea want to have fun there but the local tourists also want to share this crazy experienced. I guess you will have a good time there. Welcome to Thailand. |

Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, India.
China is probably the least desirable! and I live there.
Try Thailand - its great - lived there ten years. Perfectly safe even after the coup, and lots more to do and see than in China. |

If you want beaches try the Philippines. Beaches here have white sands and very clear water. People are friendly and can speak English. Nightlife in cities are spectacular especially in Manila, Quezon City, Makati, The Fort etc... History and culture of the Philippines are so rich that you will enjoy exploring and discovering them. Have a nice trip! |

Definitely Lombok (a small Muslim island somewhere east of Bali). They have beaches that are just as beautiful as Bali but much more peaceful. Be sure to watch traditional dances, savour the local cuisine, and go on tours to historical sites like ancient temples and places with legends. Boating on the sea is also nice. Lombok is also much more affordable than Bali I think.
However, in Lombok be sure you dress modestly (it's not like in Bali where you're OK just to walk around in board shorts and a tank). Topless bathing is unacceptable. Make sure your top has sleeves that cover you down to the elbows, your shorts/skirt go down to your knees, and don't flash your tummy and cleavage. |
