I am gonna have to say Singapore is #1. I went there on vacation and everyone follows the rules. It is very clean. They have strict laws to make sure everyone keeps it clean.

Japan is #2. Also very clean and, for the most part(minus the Yakuza), is very law abiding. Japan is also very peaceful. Very little violence and crime.

I am not sure about #3-#5. The other Asian countries I visited didn't have the same qualities as the first two.

Cleanest: Singapore (even chewing gums are illegal there)
Most peaceful: Bhutan (the only country in the world where they officially measure the happiness of its citizens, besides it hasn't been in a war for ages)
Law abiding citizens: PR China (obey the law or face execution!)

Other Asia countries? Maybe Japan and Korea would fit the bill too...

But I guess those things don't appeal to me as I love the wild side of India, Korea (South), Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines and Bali (Indonesia)... Despite the civil unrest in Nepal, Southern Thailand, Southern Philippines, Sri Lanka, Burma and other places, they're still beautiful places and shouldn't be overlooked!

Anyone thought of Taiwan?

I have to agree with Adam. It's Singapore on all counts. That orange thing is a most wonderful welcome sight.

i was there recently and was warned by every shopkeeper not to step out after night 9 pm. they say " be careful of mafia:.

and yes , many places were isolated and i didnt see women around even in daytime. The men too , all looked kinda scary - the mafia kind.

Peaceful: According to the Global Peace Index from the Economic Index Unit, the most peaceful Asian country is Japan, otherwise New Zealand if you consider it to be part of Asia
Law-abiding citizens: Singapore, Hong Kong SAR, or China

4) New Zealand (can be part of Asia)
