I would give it an 7.5. There are still some regular snatch thefts, toppling cranes, heavy vehicles safety, high traffic accidents rate, and reckless cyclists on footpaths and pavements, etc that still need to be sorted out. Be cautious though when going out, drinking and partying between the hours 11pm-5a.m. or driving more than 80kph at night.Or jogging, cycling between the hours 5--7a.m. Otherwise SG should get a 9.5 for general safety! Time to change mindsets though, about speed-limits, safety belts, cyclists, and some highway directions/signages placed at inappropriate spots, etc. |

I'll settle with a 7.5.
Black areas you asked? Yes there is, Teban Gardens, Taman Jurong and Marsiling. |

10 being the highest? I'd rate it an 8.
I'm not a Singaporean and I've been to different parts of North America as well as different parts of Asia.
Nothing comes close so far when you talk about safety.
Apart from the low crime rate, I'm also taking into consideration Singapore's geographical position as being shielded from natural disasters. |

9. I'm a Singaporean and I never experience any danger in Singapore before apart from nearly being hit by a flower pot when someone throw down from a HDB flat above while I'm passing by there few years ago. So thats the only danger I faced before, other than that its still safe and common sense for safety still stand as like in other countries too. |

I have been a tourist there and my friend goes there every other month on business. It is safe. In fact, I feel safer there than in the states. I'd give it an 8. |

i'd been there for a long time. Don't really know how safe it is until i've been to other countries (eg: Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, China, NZ, Malaysia). I would rate S'pore : 9.5.
May have some black areas, but still safer than a lot of place in the world. Rate: 9.1 |

singapore is like, so safe. its hard to get robbed even. the likelihood is really small. we are really sheltered by government. unless you are that unlucky |

9. :D
most places are safe, I can stay out late at night and feel safe.
yeah...and hardly any (or none at all?) natural disasters
crime rate is low, so it just depends on whether you're unlucky.. |

I mean, this is the one place where you can roam the streets for a night walk without feeling threatened. |
