for those with foreign taste buds..
a kare-kare is a mixture of string beans, cabbage, meat (pork, beef) in peanut sauce... very spanish yet asian food a side dip is fishpaste.
caldereta is a spanish beef/pork/chicken (or any other meat you wish) in tomato sauce for extenders one can add potatoes, carrots... it can be spicy, sweet, a bit tanagy sour depends on the cook and region cooking it. |

Kare-kare bec. it's versatile. you can use purely meat or if you want the sticky fatty ones or seafood....and you can use a lot of greens! or just pour the sauce over white steamed rice!!! Yum!!!
I like caldereta too as my second choice. |

you should pick kare-kare since it has a lot of native vegetables and the unique thing about it is you have to eat it with "bagoong", a native fish paste. if you're looking for adventure and not the usual fare, this is more challenging that kaldereta ... although both are delicious! |
