Can Chinese Muslim celebrate Chinese New Year or it's Haram?

It is hard to know which part of Chinese New Year is Haram.

nothing to say dude ..nowadays some of Islam people do too many things against Islam's rules... example is not to do Friday pray or everyday five times pray,and as i see they are enjoy drinking beer ..gambling like 4D...Toto..Big Sweep... ...what to say ...huh .......

Since this country has a myriad of cultures and different religions, we should treat each other's celebration well. There's no problem for chinese muslim to celebrate chinese new year as long as the intention to celebrate is not religiously connected. I mean, not going to the temple to pray or doing things, eating/drinking food/drinks that a muslim isn't supposed to do.

You misunderstand this.They do not pray on the lion or uniting it with their god.Remember that they have kuda kepang which they "rides" a horse and it is allowed in Islam.Hence,lion dance is not syirik and also allowed. One more thing,Islam do encourage celebration of trditional festivals as long as it is not opposes Islam's teaching.This mean that Chinese muslims should not gamble,drinking alcoholic drinks,and eat pork,not just during Chinese New Year,but anytime else.

Yes, as long as he did not involve himself in some superstitious/religious rituals that took place during the celebration or consume haraam foods. It is a new year celebration. Chinese Muslims in China do celebrate this festival. Lion dance should be a no no. And it is not munafik, it is kufur. Munafik means someone who pretends to be a Muslim.

i'm not sure about the lion dance,if it's purely for an artistic and cultural reason,i don't see why not

question yourself. are you celebrating a simple date or is tis chinese new year filled with superstitous beliefs, and contradictions to your muslim religions?

btw, if your family isn't muslim then you dont need to stay away from them the whole time, but leave the haram things that they do.

I think muslims should only celebrate wht is related to the Islam. Therefore, they should only celebrate the Islam hejri year.

Culture and religion can very well co exist. If we strictly interpret, then we won't have a television or music or even modern schools. Aeroplanes were considered once by Saudi scholars as Haram.
