Can I make money in Japan? |
I'm currently in Tokyo, Japan studying at my college's sister school. I was wondering if it was possible for me to make money on the side legally while I'm in Japan. I'll be here for a little over three months on my student visa. Thanks!

Go to the regional immigration office to apply your temporary work with detailed contract. You will be approved if all documents are well prepared enough to get part-time job. Without the permission, your side business will be illegal. |

I believe that you can legally work for 20 hours a week on a student visa (unless that's changed since I had one).
If your Japanese isn't so good you might find it difficult to get a part-time job, but then, if you can get one, your Japanese will improve :D
