i think u can wear them. i am not so sure. but be ready to be constantly looked at... i like beaches on the east coast of malaysia... time of visiting.. is .. not during the monsoon... i think from april to oktober? but i could be mistaken. or come visit the islands on sabah... those are accessable all through out the year, and the sands are nice, and the water amazing. snorkling/scuba diving is a must!

I'm not sure whether you can wear thongs in public. Mind that Malaysia is not USA or Oz, so you should try to be a bit decent. Your sexual preference is none of my business, but try to keep it low...

I would assume your referring to a swimming trunk rather than an actual thong. That would be fine although lots of people prefer the boxer shorts sort of trunks rather than the skimpier 'bikini' cut trunks. Anyway, lots of beaches on the East Coast are fabulous as are the beaches in Penang and Langkawi. Have a great time - Malaysia is a wonderful place to visit, not just for the beaches but the food and everything else. Have fun!

wearing what? thongs underwear? i guess is alright as long as you keep your stuff properly hidden. i agree with AQ, is really none of my business but you really got some kind of fashion sense wearing those in the beach. people might mistaken you for Kurt Angle, who knows? geee... i hope is not a transparent thongs underwear!?

Men in Malaysians are allowed to wear anything except naked. . There's no 4seasons for us. Malaysia's most popular beach would be
Pulau Pangkor
Pulau Tioman
Pulau Redang
Pulau Langkawi

Tioman and Redang are the sandy ones. Langkawi has quite a lot of places to visit, instead of staying at the beach only.
The best time to visit is anytime because we have only 2 seasons; rainny and sunny. However, I assume that you're refering to the best time to go for beaches at Malaysia, I would suggest it to be November to March. That's the non-monsoon dates. Somehow, u still have to look at the map because the months that i mentioned are generally referred to the east coast.
