Most Filipinos name their babies names of either Spanish or American origins

However, names like Ligaya, Liwayway, Mayumi, Malaya and the likes are girl names of Filipino origins.
For guys, I'd say Bayani and Rizal.

i suggest that if you found a good filipino name for your baby, just check it out if that is a popular name because if your family name is common here in the philippines and you combine it with a common filipino first name that would not be good. I mean chances are having someone out there having the same name also, only the middle name differs and if that would be the case problems will arise like having a hard time getting an nbi clearance in the future.
