I do. They're so humble. They let others do the scoring....

What should we call this latest coup d'etat attempt? Peninsula Manila 1?
Why not? They called the previous revolutions as EDSA 1, EDSA 2, and EDSA 3... maybe this is the first of many failed "Peninsula" coup d'etats.

Big P

Can you learn a lot about any yapper by this....?

Collecting and filing all their answers and questions over a period of time and putting all the puzzle pieces together.
Can you accurately gauge or discern their personal life character? or Do you really care to go that far? Does it really matter you or not?

What do you think? (smile)

Yes, one can certainly learn a lot from a YAPper based on the questions s/he posted and the answers s/he gave.

Yes, I can correctly gauge the personal life of a YAPper but of course not in its totality as YAP is and should not be enough a base for the entire psyche of a person. Please note though that I did not and could not do any serious sleuthing as I have a lot of things to do than come up with a Rolodex of YAPpers. By serious sleuthing, I mean making a database complete with their names and previous Qs and As or stalking him / her and analyzing things. I am very observant in nature and have a very good memory. Thus, I remember things easily. There was this instance when a certain YAPper said s/he works as an X employee in this X company but in a later post, s/he said s/he works as a Y employee in a Y company. Quite contradictory, huh. This is of course possible if s/he has changed companies but then again, the industry of companies X and Y are poles apart...

I can also remember things like ages and other stuff and there was another YAPper who said in a previous post that his / her age is xx but in a later post, s/he said it is yy.

There's a Filipino saying that translates to "The fish gets caught in its own (lying) mouth."

Truth be told, I care about some YAPpers as I am friends with most of them. I have also met a lot of them in person and I can say that my previous gauging of their personality and other details were correct. Nevertheless, they are still a mystery to me.

Accurately, I seriously doubt it but you can get an inkling into their character, not only with their questions and answers but also from their trolls.
To be honest I tried it on a boring weekend but eventually gave up the quest as being too hard and a rather expensive waste of time.
There is one person who, by her own admission, does hold a dossier on Yappers, even went as far as asking Yappers for a list of their blocked list. No names but apples are in season.

I think it's not enough to "accurately" define a person or any yapper in particular unless you are a good profiler. I takes more than that. I can project a good image here, but I may be the scummest of all scums in real life.

It's a virtual world, we can be whatever we want to be. Unless we have physical contact with the person behind the avatar, it can be hard to guess. Now if you are beyond observant and you don't have that much of a life to collect, file, interpret every answer a user has, I am pretty sure you can get glimpses of their real personal lives; all the more for users who honestly answer and set aside bickering with other users.

I don’t go that far, I have little time with so much to do. You can say I might be a little gullible but I easily trust people. I give them room for doubts. Only when I can truly see something different do I take heed of the alarm bells. Save for one or two, so far all impressions I have for the Yappers I know turned out to be true. I value more the personal information given freely, honestly and wholeheartedly by the person than the assumptions fed by others. At the end of it all, those are mere assumptions. We can have a lot of disguises and pseudo-personalities when we are protected by anonymity.

I can learn about a yapper through YAP but only a part of them. It's difficult to know a person through online; even if I connect all the details. I can only assume but never conclude. There are some instances that I get to know some yappers' age, work, educational background... problems... things like that. I've also met some of them in person and I realized they were a whole lot better in person- very different from who they are here. As for an indepth research about a fellow yapper, I'm quite lazy when it comes to doing that hehe.

Sure you can. It doesn't take long to figure out the good people from the trolls.

Of course it's not worth bothering with most of the people around.

Mutya P
By the way all yappers answered, you could easily determine who's like this or like that. Some even sent personal messages IF they think he or she is worth the effort to consider as a friend(s).
Take care and GOD BLESS ALL OF US!!!!!

Yes, one can. I can, if it comes to that. But I am so very not interested, thank you. :]

wow! do they really do that? some people in this site are really that serious and dedicated. you know, people were like books sometimes. you have to read it thoroughly before you can give a synopsis of it. besides, in the web, you cannot really tell who's who unless you meet them and live with them for at least two years. yes, i'm serious.

I think we can learn ZIP from this. As what I read in Shogun by James Clavell, people have so many faces for everyone. But only within themselves do they see their own heart.

annabelle p
In time, their true character will show by the kind of answers and/ or questions they post. One cannot hide their true self in a long period of time. However, it should not be wholly used to measure or judge a person's worthiness of character. There are other means by which one can do that if one is really interested without over-stepping on the line or invading an individual's privacy.

In the long run, it does not really matter whether you get to know the person up close and personal. I don't care much about digging into a person's life just so I can have information about him. If he wants you to know, he will tell you.

They called it.. 'recycling'. Especially if these answers are meant for the same overused baloney questions.

in YAP NO. i learned something from YAPpers from their reality. if you know their trolls you realize they are different in public than when they are alone with with their friends stabbing you. (smiles)

Is there someone who will seriously do that? I think its a waste of time. You cannot accurately gauge or discern one's personal life or character by just looking at the questions or answers that a person post unless you personally hang out with this person.

I read questions and try to give sound answers... i wanted to be of help but other's may not view it that way specially when its opinion or personal point of views. I seldom ask questions i don't know ...just reading all of these questions and answers fill me a lot already.

Juan C
I could do that on my free time... but c'mon, who cares... I'd better do my own business... the economy is falling down...

SORRY!!!
