Simple and without any explanation. No. |

i know in cartoons you can...but sadly, i just found that the fire dept. won't come get your cat out of a tree like in the cartoons: so in real life, probably not. Reality bites! |

Yes, if you have a Dodge Nitro. According to the commercial it goes all the way through the earth! |

Nope. Once you dug through the first several miles of dirt and rock you would hit the mantle and your hole would be filled with immensely hot molten magma. Then you would have to continue to dig through this for the next several thousand miles before hitting the core, which many speculate is super dense super heated iron. Then back through the mantle and back out the crust on the other side. Not only would it take an eternity to pull off, there is no existing terrestrial technology that could achieve it. |

Let me know when u get there. |

I believe you'd have to be somewhere in Brazil if you want a "direct route". But as stated above we don't have the technology to do so. |

go for it...let me know how it goes... |

No, the molten core of the earth would incinerate you. |

I change my name72

I heard you can in your neighbors sandbox's. |

No, Sorry! you will come out in the sea. |

Yes, if you live through the heat of the earth's core. |

sonny_too_much
Yeahhhhhh ! I can dig it dude ! |

green bay
yes... just remember you will come up... upside down... and stay that way... you have to travel AROUND the earth to remain rightside up. |

the Boss
The best way to do that is to start in China, otherwise I don't think so. |

Fluffy
no.. that would require digging through the solid metal core of the earth, even with our large drills we still haven't dug deeper than 12 kilometers, that was dug by the Soviet Union in an attempt to reach the mantle, which they didn't reach. |

DCBT
No, beacuse the Earth's Core is too hot. Also if it is possible i think you have to start in Chile. Also I'm 14. |

read this question, think about what you said and then go back to sleep................................. |

i think u can. if make something that is a 100% fire proof and if u have special powers!
hell i am sure super man can do it! |

Why don't you be the first to try. When you finish, let me know. |

dbarnes3
Why would you want to? I don't think you could dig that far as you would run into hard rock and molten magma eventually. |

I recently was in China and asked if they dug a hole would they come out in America, They just looked at me as if I were dumb. |

Sure, why not. |

probley not.
i dont think any kindof suite or machinery can with hold against the heat of the earths core.
idk, try it and tell us how it goes =] |

Yes you could probably dig a hole all the way to China. Although it is not feasible. Firstly, you could not dig straight there. You would have to follow the earth's crust to do so. Secondly, you would have to dig under the Pacific ocean. To get to that depth you would have to constantly provide a large amount of support so that the weight of the ocean (compounded by the weight of atmospheric pressure) does not collapse your tunnel. Thirdly, you must either be lucky or plan you path very well. The ocean's crust is much thinner than the normal ground that you walk on. In many instances, only a few meters thick in fact. If you go the Pacific route (which is the shortest, at least from the U.S.) you wouldn't have to deal with the TransAtlantic Rift. But the ground can still be very unstable. You would be going underneath the "Ring of Fire" named so because of the tectonic instability of the region. This is an area of numerous earthquakes and volcanos, both above ground and underwater.
So, you may as well, simply travel by plane or boat. |

yes, acording to philokter's rule of calculatoryphysicologicness, you can poportionate the epilitomes of time and gravity to maneuver, or shall I say "dig", through the mantal of the terrestrial disambaguation to end up in CHINA! |
