It is so much less expensive to travel in China, great food and lots to see. Places to stay are abundant and reasonable. |

Neither.
They are only different in as much as the USA is not better, we are only different.
However, the next time you form this question, be more specific.

China
Pros:
- cost for food, shopping, transportation, & hospitality are very cheap, lots of nature & historical site seeing spots, ppl are friendly to foreigners
Cons:
- not safe, very polluted (allergy sufferers beware), very germy (you'll most likely get sick), ppl might jip you
Japan
Pros:
- clean, lots of site seeing spots & tourist attractions, will be able to see & buy bizzare things (you'll understand when you go there), orderly, polite ppl in general
Cons:
- tho you'll be happy, your money will run like water in no time, you pay a lot for food but it won't even fill you up
So it depends on what you're looking for and what your budget is. I've been to both countries & I love them both equally. |

It all depends on what attributes are you using to judge wheather one country is bettewr than another. Ask anyone from China they will say china is better, ask someone from Japan and they will tell you Japan is better. Each country is unique unto itself just as each person is unique unti his/her own self. The fun of it all is to explore as much as you can so you can make that decision for yourself. |

In the past 100 years...
One of the succumbed to a dictatorial regime, which used propoganda to convince the entire population that an invasion of Asia was required for the survival of the nation. It eventually fell to the U.S. and has been her little sister ever since.
The other had a six millenia old tradition of rule end in the first part of the 20th century with a revolution advocating democracy, when the disarray of the revolution left them vulnerable, allowing Japan to invade, commit innumerable atrocities with complete confidence that they were a simple inferior animalistic race.
In the wake of a young government which was not able to defend itself against genocide, a dictatorial communist party took power, restored peace, and has slowly (though making many mistakes) improved the biggest single populated country in the world.
So today one concentrates on business, technology, and specifically the technology of fitting hundreds of millions of people on a small island. The other concentrates on feeding a billion and a half people and protecting itself from foreigner invaders. Both are pretty successful.
Japanese animation is better. Chinese food is better. Japanese electronics and cars are better. Chinese girls are more attractive.... Who cares? |

china ( beijing ) : a must visit places :
1. great wall of china
2. tiananmen square
3. forbidden city
4. summer palace
5. markets
6. ming tombs
in china extremely cheap for shopping, dinning out, taxi, hotel, night life ( beer for 1 dollar ), and good for shopping fake branded stuff, so if u'll like shopping and cultures go to china, still lay back , lots of bicycles, note : prepare for some mandarin because its hard to get around if you dont know mandarin, not so many ppl speak english
in japan : a must visit places :
1. tokyo tower
2. ginza ( expensive shopping district )
3. harajuku ( lots of teenagers with "unusual look" , shopping )
4. shibuya ( shopping again )
5. shinjuku ( shopping )
6. electronic market
in japan extremely expensive to shopping , but its very nice culture, the people very very polite ,,,very modern country, the subway super busy, so if you like to see modern city, tokyo is the place !! dont take a taxi from the airport in tokyo....because it will end up to 200 usd !!!.....better take limousine bus ...its about 1,5 hour , 30 usd !
i was living in beijing ( china ) for 8 months and have been to japan 3 times ......both of the countries have very interesting cultures |
