Magnitude 4.2 quake rocks Luzon, Manila
AMITA LEGASPI, GMANews.TV
11/27/2007 | 12:37 PM

(Updated 1:02 p.m.) MANILA - A magnitude 4.2 earthquake shook central and northern Luzon, including the Philippine capital, shortly after noon Tuesday. There were no immediate reports of injuries and damage.

A report from Associated Press said buildings across Manila shook for several seconds. Panicked residents also ran out into the streets, including some employees working in the Malacañang presidential palace and establishments in the Makati financial district.

In a phone interview with GMANews.TV, Jenjen de Ocampo, Science Research Specialist II of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), said the tremor occurred 12:26 p.m. and measured 4.2 on the Richter Scale.

De Ocampo said the quake's epicenter was located 77 kilometers northwest of Lingayen, Pangasinan.

nope not here, but last night I felt my whole body move :-)

Bopols
Yes. In fact we were just about to start a meeting when one of my senior staff had to excuse herself to call home and check on her kid.

We weren't really scared. They come every so often, and the building we are in is an old but sturdy structure.

I didn't because I'm continents away..review your emergency plan always. Your chances for survival increases when you know what to do in case of emergencies =)

My classmates in Pangasinan texted me (in the cellphone), that their classes were canceled and they let them go home... Thank God their okay,,, although the intensity over there was much higher than Manila's...

I hope no body got hurt...

Aref H4
No, but my folks called me to report the same thing, I'd say only minutes after I first read this Question of yours.

And then, later on at lunchtime, it was already in TV Patrol (The Filipino Channel) and Kuya Kim Atienza was explaining on difference between Intensity and Magnitude readings.

They say that here, in Saudi Arabia, it has never known an earthquake.

Nope. My boss asked me if I felt an earthquake and I said that she's just probably dizzy, so she ate a slice of melon to ward off the dizziness. :-)
