No I disagreed with your question. Generally it happen to anyone especially if the husband is the sole bread winner but you would see more Malay's cases due to their higher population.
I m not sure how you could come to Kelantan has more cases but it could be the NGO that protect women and child are all stationed at the bigger cities ie KL, Penang and secondly, the women in cities are more educated and more informed. So if you lump out some of the situation and reasons like the above, do you expect and how you expect a weaker sex to challenge or leave their husband especially when these beasts became abusive under drug influence! These women would be scared to hell! |

yeah gives us a reason why woman should seek for another woman. I have seen chinese lady with broken jaw trying to protect her husband from police custody . I have seen how another woman got so fed up with her abusive husband and tried to kill him. Lawak kan? what are you trying to share with us here? |

You really should not generalise your question to only 1 race. In my opinion, all women hope for a lasting and loving marriage till the end of time, as most will say. Please tell me which ethnic of woman doesn't want that? For whatever reasons that a woman will put up with her husband, it is all for the name of love and family sake especially for the woman who is also a mother. Since I am of the fairer sex, I might be biased in saying that I do believe that a woman cares more for the family than the man. |

It does not happen to only malay women, it happens to all races all over the world.what are u trying to prove here..??& yeah i agree with Farina. |

Hmm..i dont have an abusive partner..he's a very loving hubby and daddy..i'm glad to have him in my life..so no, i dont need to feel afraid of losing him...
but if i were to have an abusive husband..it will be a disaster for him coz i will too abuse him..coz i can chase a man with a broom or mop out from a house!!
Done that to my ex-boyfriend! lol..what a joke! |

Well, dont know where u get this idea...
Probably love i think.. Malay women are loyal that's it..
If u talk about abusive to women, i think Indian women are even worst been abused by husbands... And chinese young couples more likely to devorce in young ages..
i dont agree to the statement of the women afraid of losing their husband.. this kind of this does not applies anymore in this golden age.. |

“Women divorcees are GATAL. I’ve seen these single mothers when I attend gatherings or parties. They didn’t look like they were sad about getting divorced. Instead, they seemed to be gatal”
~ Abdul Fatah, PAS (kelantan like u mentioned) |

Say what?
 |
hehehhehe....i love this question.
in a way, what u are saying is correct. I shall not mention other race since your question only mention malays.
I too have seen many women afraid of losing husbands, even after years of abuse. Husbands having affairs, husband unemployed but demand money and food on the table, husbands verbally abusing wives.. Most of the reason why these women stays because they have small children and they refuse to allow their children to grow without a father.
Perhaps a person like u and me, would then ask; why would they want their children to grow with a father like that.. Then they will give you this answer; 'its better to let them know their father rather than having no father at all..'
Most women would say, they refuse to get a divorce coz they didnt want to be alone. All in all, its got to be love dont u think..Love of keeping their family together sort of..
On the other hand women nowadays are stronger and able to decide whats best for them. (maybe after seeing mother being abused in the past). Most women nowadays wil not care what others may think of them if they lose their husband. After all, it isnt a big deal losing a man really. But the big deal is what happens if u have children coz some kids may get affected by it.. truly badly.
Like a malay sayings 'diluah mati bapak, ditelan mati emak'. |

the husbands go ahead to marry 3 or 4 and the women dont complain because of religion. Islam allows up to 4 wives. |
|

Bingo!

That is interesting. Where did you gain this knowledge? Does their society shun divorcees? |

Afraid of losing their husband, doesn't really apply to the Malays alone, surprisingly it happens to all race, I believe it has more to do with the love they have developed, and when it comes to the traditional wives they have a lot to think of, where are they going to get the money out of a sudden to support her and her children and so on...
Independent women now days in the other hand are more independent in sense of, they have careers, and sometimes they even earn more then their husband. So they don't worry much. |

Ya, I agree with you. Maybe they're ashame.
They're ashame when they can't get married in a certain age which they think they're suitable, so they find a husband no matter what, after the marriage they found the husband bad, but they still stick with the man because they're ashame to be a single mum.
Well, women nowadays should be more independent. Don't rely on your partner. Don't force yourself into suffer. They should let their voices out so that the community can helps. |

Well, as long as they are happy, why should we worry?
At the end of it all, the only thing they need is forgiveness from God, they say... cos' God is all merciful, all forgiving and so on... so, we must not say a word or else God will be angry with us for taking his matters at our own hands... shhhh!
Anyway, Dr.chickencurry... you're so hot :-) |
