Lights were off, TV and modem were on...everything but the fridge (including my laptop) was unplugged.

No, I had the T.V. on, but everything else I shut off. (oh, and the furnace's electric motor was still running) I didn't want to freeze to death. I didn't unplug the fridge.

Yes and no. Depends. My fridge need to go work 24/7 if not the food spoil. Family is watching some dramas after 8pm news.
