Do Malaysians still read?

Everywhere I go, people are texting and blabbing away on their cellphones. The only book I've seen people read is Twilight and I HATE THOSE SCENE KIDS SO MUCH.

But seriously. Do we still read? Am I just in the wrong places or something?

most malaysian dont read,,

why do i say this?

u can still find people speeding at 110 where the sign says (AWAS, kawasan kemalangan) and litter where the sign says (dilarang membuang sampah)

-but if you are talking about books, novels,, and stuffs,, yes, people do read,, its just that they find it not comfortable to read in the public,,(noisy, crowd, crazy traffic)
so if you want to see ppl read,, u have to go into their houses.

YES—Malaysians Do Read

…….. Only difference ………

They ought to read materials that’s more towards Amusing / Pleasurable than Knowledge Oriented

* Referring to the survey done by Global Surveying Market

Tried to read more mature non-fiction stuff and inspirational materials...but just not inspired enough.

Your extremely strong negative emotions are catching! Help!

Ryuzaki: I used to read Sherlock Holmes, too. And I enjoyed Agatha Christie's a lot.

Technology, gotta love it! I am sure if you get around more adults you will see reading going on, but I am sure it is the same as anywhere else, kids are punks.. hahaha. Just joking but I do think the kids are all about the technology.

Ryuzaki "L" The KiD
Yeah. Exclude books for my study, newspaper for my general knowledge and some online reading. I read Sherlock Holmes.

Purple Lemon
I read The Sun to begin my day. In office continue with The Star, NST, Utusan and Berita Harian (every page).

I read at least 5 books a day. I had to becoz I did the abstract and indexing of it. So..yes I'm reading.

To me, I think they still do. Just fewer maybe. Otherwise, this country will not be able the expand and the keep up with the world.

I say this because at my place, I mean the public library, is always full of people especially on Sundays. In fact, the people there not only borrow a few book but some even borrow a basketful using lots of cards.

So, that's why we can't say they DON'T read at all. They may not be as much a bookworm as the western people but we still read books!

Handsome
I guess most still reading... Just that they no longer reading book instead they are online read from eBook...

Cheekedee

Msz Grizzly7
