Do U feel proud in our very own M'sian "space project"?! Why so many other countries "TIDAK BOLEH"?! |
Other countries like USA, China, Russia ... are well respected for their achievement in space tech as they have
a) own space programmes & plans
b) own technology, rockets / equipments
c) significant objectives of being there (i.e. space dominance, REAL scientific research, military purposes, business potentials etc.)
For us, we are just a "passenger" who sits in their space ship and visits the space. Not much different from those super rich businessmen overseas who pay for their space travel except ... they pay with their own hard earned money, we pay with own hard earned (I mean the people) tax payer fund.
For us,
1) no real space programme
2) no technology, rockets/ space equipment
3) no significant objectives except the so-called "Malaysia Boleh" and probably ... do some dunno-wat researches just to show we are doing something in space ...?!
There is really nothing to shout about. Any country can just send a bunch of people like this into space by spending tones of $$$$.
Why don't they so it? Because they TIDAK BOLEH ?! Yes they really TIDAK BOLEH in spending people's money like their own bapak's money.
What say you? |

Sending a man to space just means that Malaysia has money, nothing else. See why:
- they are not flying with a Malaysian spacecraft
- it is not Malaysian space project (they paid Russia to train them and take them to space)
- all the work is done by Russians
- it is Russian spacecraft and Russian technology
- they are departing from Baykonur, Kazakhstan (send regards to Borat), not Malaysia
I say "you boleh", you can see that this whole Malaysia Astronaut thing is just Malaysia's newest white elephant.
Come on, even Zimbabwe can send 2 guys to space like this, just ask Mugabe to approve the funds...
Japan doesn't have its own space programme, neither has Australia, so why should Malaysia have one? It's a waste of money, and I doubt Malaysia can develop its own space programme. |

if we build and lunch our rocket by our self, that s something to be proud of. but just "tumpang shj" that s a waste of money (just wanna show off) |

I don't feel proud at all as I agreed with your views ... the only wish I have is that something good will come out of it .... maybe we can sell photos of outerspace taken during that mission to recover back some money ...
Some people may say this is the beginning of something or the first step for Malaysia to venture into space exploration but for me, this is a too little step ... Of course I am proud to be a Malaysian but at times like this, with so many price increase on the basic things like petrol, flour, chicken etc., I say this is not a good deal .... |

say you say me. why spend RM 95 millions just to send a person to space. |

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU!!
Why spend so much when that so much can be of great assistance to the unfortunate citizens.......so much to be done....so very much!!
My tax money...oh well, apa pun boleh...mana tak boleh???
---**zipped**---
[edit] You all just wait and see after the astronauts come home. They will definitely be awarded Datukship with great rewards.....remember the solo sailor? |

This is to show that we can afford to sponsor a space tourist and promote space tourism. Of course you don't want to be defeated by Vietnam right? They already had their own first man in space, when Pham Tuan flew there in 1980. |

better tumpang rather than spend all the money to the what u says as..
1) real space programme
2) technology, rockets/ space equipment
3) significant objectives except the so-called "Malaysia Boleh" and probably ... do some dunno-wat researches just to show we are doing something in space ...?!
well then again.. if we spend country money for all of the above.. then after they somebody will then complain about why we spend much more money on those programme... we not good at it & not rich, why we need to spend in such programme.. Please remember the fall of the Soviet Union is due to space race & arm race with the states.. even the union collapse...

Instead of spending lots of money to send people to space and arctic and antartic and everest and to other -----est in the world, spend it by giving free education to students, or free dentals or to make transportation better...more trains (-monorail, lrt, komuter) and buses route so people will drive less.. |

Couldn't agrees more with you...for a 100mil rm our spaceflight participant will spend 10 days in space 'makan angin' with the astronauts in that Russian spacecraft before 'tumpang' back with another spacecraft from US..the rest of the crews will be in space until next spring. |

To start off, their countries have a huge population & have been running it right. This gives em the advantage on this subject as they have studied it years way before we had. But,however, we do have our own specialities & are learning at fast pace. Spending $$$ on space travel, will only help us gain more knowledge. |
