Most Filipinos that I've met have a interest in music. Many love to sing and others play instruments. They are all talented and have a strong passion for music.

The professional musicians of the Philippines are incredible. Very good.

Of course... Filipinos are very good musicians after all. For those who do not know, Filipino music is also call OPM (Original Pilipino Music). There are a great many kinds of bands from the common Pop, Ballads, Metal, and Rocks bands, to those who do mostly revivals, ska, novelties, and even ethnic music. A lot of great musicians are emerging all the time so you can take you pick. OPM is like a microcosm of all different kinds of music in the world. Some artists you might want to check out are Parokya Ni Edgar, Eraserheads (disbanded, but one of the greats!), Side A, Southborder, and MYMP.

are u kidding? filipinos have probably the best voices in the world. i watch american idol and im like, what? those are the best voices in the us today? give me a break. about filipino music, its a different story though. filipino music is stuck somewhere. it needs to move forward to be at par with international compositions. filipino music dwells too much on sentiments and romance. too melodramatic. if only those great voices be given great materials. filipinos could be selling records worldwide like hotcakes.
