Several time this question has been asked here in YAP.
Its more of the individual and not where he or she came from. ..
Well of course, others are too shallow and thinks they are inferior or superior. |

I am a Tagalog "probinsiyano" from Udyong, Bataan and as a young kid, I used to throw down the canal my cousin Manilenos for I found them "overbearing" and "hambog". But when we moved to Manila, I became a Manileno and I shall never be like them. And no one in his right mind would throw me down the canal in our hometown. Cuz I am the master at that game.
Also, all my cousins who fell victim to my wrath had moved to the States. And I believe they don't have open canals over there. |

I am a Manileno and so do my relatives and friends but we never thought that we are superior than those from the provinces.
It is possible that those in the provinces feel inferior that's why they think that those from Manila are Hambog. |

yes, its always been a customary... filipinos with regional accent its always sub-filipino.. its the truth..
say for example
Cebuano vs. Manileno... same school, same course, same intelligence, same looks.. applies for work in Makati based company.. who do you think gets the gig??? or Maybe ask yourself would you hire someone with an accent?? |

I'm a Tagalog and I don't look down on them. I'm also a probinsiyano, proud and happy of our culture! |

I grew up in Manila and whenever I visit our province I'm treated like a star. So thank you provincianos. |

I am a provinciano, I'm from Pangasinan, but I don't find SOME of the Manilenos superior... SOME probably, because they think they're rich or something, but there are more wealthier people in my province than those I know who live in Manila... |

Its a regional thing. Can same apply to those in the province when a city sleeker got lost in their place. But seriously those who come across like that to anyone have some displaced "superman issue" and need a smack to clear their airhead.

not really. i'm a manileño and most of my "dabarkads" consists of good people from the provinces of visayas, who do not think that they're inferior than me. although there are times we have some indifferences, but nothing that we cannot handle. |

I am a Manileno but like others who answered your question, I don't think nor feel that I am superior to others who are from different provinces. I love being with Cebuanos, Ilongos and the like. After all, they are still our fellow Filipinos. We see others like our own. There's no regionalistic attitude whatsoever. Maybe there are some isolated cases like that that happen but generally, I think Manilenos are just like any other people in this country who possess good characteristics of being a Pinoy. Maybe Manilenos are being misinterpreted sometimes because of difference in speech and dialect as well. :+) |

Some do look down on the promdis; not everyone though. And you're right, they appear "hambugeros" because of their attitude. Some of them don't even try to learn the dialects of the places they are assigned in; some have been living in the place for quite a while. They think it's beneath them to be seen or heard talking other than their own dialect. |

i don't.
i believe the ones who do are those uneducated ones with no roots from the province so they don't even bother to realize that so-called provinces that have a metropolis aren't any different from Manila. |

There will always be some people who would come across as arrogant and overbearing but it has nothing to do with where they are from. Also, there's no truth that Manilenos look down on the "promdis"...maybe some BUT not all of us are like that. |

I live in Manila and I have never thought that I would be superior to provincianos. My parents live in Pangasinan and I like it there. I prefer province than in Manila. We Pinoys are the same and we should treat each other with respect. =) |

I don't think so, I think Provincianos think they are better that Manilenos as they have block of land, fresh air, clean water, easy relaxing life style and fresh food in cheap price. |
