In the 2004 election, the rakyat gave BN an overwhelming mandate and it was all attributed to Pak Lah being the newly appointed prime minister and all his "sweet promises". If in 2004 all the credits went to him it is appropriate that he takes all the blames this time. His position as PM is very vulnerable now. He should step down instead of being booted out later by his own UMNO people. He should follow Dr Koh Tsu Koon and Chua Soi Lek's gentleman manner by stepping down rather than following the ever arrogant Samy Vellu.
However as much as we want Pak Lah to step down, we also need to consider who will be his successor. At this moment, Najib seems to be the most obvious choice. Unfortunately i don't think Najib is much better than Pak Lah except perhaps Najib is more "alert" and not as sleepy as Pak Lah.
Nevertheless , i still think Pak Lah should resign immediately and at the same time hope that he will appoint a capable and trustworthy person to succeed him and that person shouldn't be Najib, Hishamuddin or Rafidah. Many will be happy to see Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah being appointed as the new PM ( very slim chance though ) |

We should just let the sleeping dog lie since he has already gotten the punishment he deserved. Let him learn from his mistake. If he does, we will all benefit from it. Correct action is needed for change, but drastic action might just spoil the soup. |

I think if this political change suddenly happen it would cause chaos. So he should stay on until they find a better leader. However, I'm not a big fan of him. |

Dr Koh Tsu Koon accepts full responsibility & tender in his resignation, didn't he? And Datuk Ong Ka Ting resigns from all cabinet posts.
And Pak Lah says he feels no pressure to resign!! What does that tell you about our PM? |

If Badawi steps down, he will be trampled upon by his aggressors.
If you are him, will you step down so easily? Even if the whole country goes into anarchy, he will remain seated. Same with Arroyo of Philippines.
There is only one way to unseat the prime minister. Wait for him to sit until his backside shiok shiok and every citizen suffer like hell, then he will go. By that time, everybody would have died and he will be saying 'I've done a good job, the economy is fine'.
This is typical Muslim mentality of course.

Oklah, since everyone agrees that PL should resign.
But for me arr, not yet. He should stay on.
Why? simple.
Do any of you see any potential candidates that really bold enough to be a PM?
We complained about KJ, true but he's no MP quality.
We complained about Najib, true but he's no PM quality. Not even close, yet.
I didn't ask him to resign, but only ask him to change his attitude.
Be reasonable to rakyat.
That's all.

i support every move of DR.M ...yes Badawi should resign, and just like how Khir Toyo gave 1 minister a broom, he should also give Badawi the same broom and not to forget Khir Toyo as well lost in the election, he got the broom as well, what goes around, comes around...so now many BN ppl are sweeping the floors ! Oh Yes ! I heard Uncle Sam is looking for a job, he seem to be posting his resume in every website... hahaha ! |

He should stay on.
IMO, the Opposition should rally behind and support PM Badawi now to keep him in power(behind the scenes if need be). Malaysians need to see that this change can work and that having a strong opposition can be for the better. For that to happen, what is needed is time. If Badawi goes, a stronger more ruthless man at the helm may kill the opposition's chance to shine before they've even started to make a difference. We don't want a return to the days of 2/3 majority one "party" rule. |
