Yes, i agree and there is no such thing as an acceptable lie inside a court room scenario. A lie is always a lie. But in a case, one has to be proven guilty to be convicted. The prosecution and the defense have to do its part to convince the court and the jury beyond reasonable doubt. In the process either one is always lying at any one time. |

It is never good, and never correct, to generalize. I will have to disagree. |

Disagree. Not all lawyers are liars. Lying is part of their job. Everything is in defense of their clients interest. That is their job by the way. How can they earn a living if they don't defend their clients the way they should defend it? The lying can be a lie if they do it outside the court room. They are capable of lying not as a lawyer but as a citizen, that is the only time we can call them liars. |

My father was a lawyer. If by "liar" you mean is it part of a person's trait or character..."iyang kinaiya"?.. then no. Not all lawyers are liars. Although lawyers lie to win a case for their clients. |

Technically no lawyer is a liar.
They are only doing their jobs just like us non-lawyers. They are defending a guilty client because they have to but not necessarily they are lying. |

They have to do it to win their case. Telling the truth is oftentimes prejudicial to them and may mean losing the paycheck.
Some honest ones simply rejects a client if they knew that telling the truth will weaken a case. |

I have to disagree. That's like saying "all saints are virtuous people". We all know that's not true. Some were actually of shady characters and dubious professions before their spiritual awakening.
The same with lawyers. We joke that they lie a lot, pretty much the way used car salesmen do. It is an unfair generalization. I think they (the lawyers and the salesmen) have perfected the art of stretching or camouflaging the truth that for us, it does sound like they are lying. |
