10 years ago, it was my first christmas as a college student and my parents celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary.

looking back, 1997 was a good year to reminisce since it was the year i entered college and began a semi-independent life. i'm from the province but i studied in manila so i felt it was the year i became responsible, wiser and more mature.

my mother died at 11:30 a.m. on december 25, 1997. it was the saddest day of my life. i was a 4th year highschool student at that time. now, we are going to celebrate her 10th year death anniversary. may she rest in peace. an oh... maybe this is just a coincidence... her name was annabelle too!

I was not contented or happy with my situation 10 years ago.
Today, I thank GOD where I am now. I am nothing without him.

Let me see...10 years ago I was 4 years old.

But back then I wasn't going to school yet and I wasn't living in a big city. I lived in a quiet town filled with humble people. I was carefree back then not worrying about anything. I would also ask my mom about anything I see. Also 10 years ago I met my very first best friend whom I never seen again after leaving that town in 1999.

Yes it was a happy memory.

We had a two-month old baby at Christmas time and were in my mother's house. We always held him while in church and he would fall asleep during the service. He was baptized in an old brownstone Lutheran church on Christmas Eve. Now he's ten years old and in fourth grade.

i was a high school freshie then.

it was actually fun. i did quite well in class.

im a lot more mature now. i hate watching news then. but now, news is all i watch..hehe

When I can hear songs that were popular those years..it made me miss my teenage life.[which is 10 years ago]
I miss my friends...never see them since we moved.
I miss my highschool School were we can go there in the late afternoon and look the sunset.
I miss the life in province where it so simple,uncomplicated and 'near' to God atmosphere.
I miss it and it made me smile!

10 years ago? Dancing Michael Jackson, making paper plate clocks, singing stupid improptu songs in events as serious as graduation... Those were the carefree days. Some people don't want to remember their past and yet without it, we wouldn't be the wiser people we are today.

10 years ago was still a "happy" stage in my life.

I'm the type who dosen't want to reminisce that much because nice memories of the past only reminds me of the countless problems facing me in the present.

I miss the life I had before getting married!!!!!!!! I miss everything!! School, my friends, the carelessness, getting up late, my parents, going shopping with my mom, no responsibilities, having no inlaws etc. I got married 3 years ago hehe. I miss my childhood :(

I am not into history, with the exception of the learning experience it has provided. I like where I am now. But 10 years ago was OK too. Regret is sort of an empty emotional guilt trip to me. I just accept my foibles, and focus of the present, and very near future.

Of course I remember. Ten years ago I was in this same place, in Riyadh. I was in this same company I am in now. And if I remember correctly, I was in same predicament of not being home for Christmas.

That time, as is the present, is rightly to be left forgotten in the dustbin of time.
