Well, Philippines IS located in Asia hence Filipinos ARE Asians. Even though Filipino culture closely relates to the Hispanic culture and we're not the Asians most foreigners imagine (people with tiny eyes speaking like a Chinese language of some sort), Filipinos are Asians.

I consider myself, a Filipino, as Asian. Our ancestors came from the Malay and Indonesian races. I do not consider the geographical location, but the ties it has with its nearby countries.

Filipinos are from the continent of Asia located in South East but in the U.S. we are considered Pacific Islanders probably because we're close to the pacific ocean.

Filipinos can also be Pacific Islanders since Philippines is in Pacific ocean, but if you're asking about "CONTINENTAL Ancestry Group", then Filipinos are Asians.

Filipinos are considered as Asian ONLY due to the geography.

Truth is, their looks, culture, food, belief system, traditions, and everything are more of a mixture of Hispanic and Pacific Islander. Their language is most closely related to the Micronesians.

If you place side by side a "typical Asian" and a Filipino, you'll quickly see the difference without thinking at all.

BUT, everyone considers Filipinos as Asians, due to their proximity to mainland Asia.

Yes, they are. The Malay Archipelago area is still in Asia. Most dark Asians look like them.
