Do you get affected with a thumbs down?

I don't get affected with thumbs down but I feel delighted that someone must have been affected by my answer for them to respond with thumbs down or thumbs up. (^_~).

Update 1: See the effect now, 4 TDs. Expecting more...

Not affected. Each one is entitled to his opinion, including disagreeing with what we say.

Well, if you get used to have it, it's not gonna affect you anymore. But i do get emotional sometimes when i get thumbs down but you know people is not perfect.

Sometimes. Especially if I tried answering a question as honestly as I could and to the best of my knowledge.

I do think Yahoo!Answers needs to improve that just a bit because, as I see it, some --- I repeat: SOME (not all) --- people are obviously "thumbing down" others just for the heck of it without really understanding what was written. It could be demeaning sometimes.

Maybe those people who give a "thumbs down" should give a short explanation for doing so; or maybe a short counter-argument would suffice. I think it would make Yahoo!Answers a better (and intellectually healthier) "place" for people to exchange their thoughts on a gamut of subjects. I do think we can't just give a "thumbs down" to a person just because we want to. That's just lame.

...but now I don't care at all. I let them TD all they can if that makes them happy =)) I now understand that contrary to disagreeing or correcting a wrong answer, some are just freakisly happy to click the button.

You said one top contributor is so affected? Let him/her be. If he/she wants to make a career out of Yahoo Answers, that is his/her prerogative.

No, I don't. I just leave it, gives the one doing it the fun time of his/her life. Maybe that makes him/her happy. Anyway, my answers my own and nobody can take that away from me, no matter how many thumbs down the person gives them.

I don't type if I am or if I'm not. But if my response is good and makes sense, and then somebody gives a thumbs down, I get annoyed, especially if that person goes on and points out my criticism and then tries to correct me, even though it's not my rule I'm stating. That's when it annoys me. Other than that, if my answer is mean and crule, like about those trashy Twilight books, I laugh at thumbs downs because I have as many thumbs up as I do thumbs downs, which is a paradox.

I'm a TC, but I don't get affected by a thumbs down. You can give me thumbs downs all you want. It doesn't affect my points and my dignity in any way.

When I was really new to YA, I would have to say yes. As I have not really understood why someone would go down my list of answers & thumb down all of them.

Today, I have a general idea on why some people would do that. So what can I say, I would have learned to understand & I have learned to let it slide.

Yea, it hurts me like a knife and I'm bleeding. My lips are sealed... have fun.

No, to me TD's and TU's mean very little.
Just a childish game some prefer to play. If you show them that you are affected, they win and will continue.
