I don’t need go-betweens because I think I can get my message across without difficulty. In most instances, my messages are clear, self-explanatory and don’t require further analysis, and the recipient should have no problem understanding them. Unless I intentionally want them to be ambiguous, and I want the other person to make his or her own interpretation.
The problem with go-betweens is the possible loss of the message’s meaning in the exchange, as in your story (which was very funny btw). |
