When you buy a ticket, it includes the full price of all the foods and beverages, plus other 'disposable's [scented paper napkins, in-flight magazines, etc.] that are served/provided during the flight. So, every passenger has a right to carry away whatever they had not consumed/used !
...Regular flyers are usually affluent businesspersons - who have constant access to all such items, and can also well afford to buy them. So, they often disregard and/or discard most of what is served - because, perhaps, they are used to much better stuff !
But to a casual flyer, to whom the flight itself seems a luxury, these 'fancy' items can prove a real treat - to take away for relishing later. And, if they are kids in their family, these can be a highly appreciated surprise for the little ones.
