Sorry to disappoint you guys, but can the people spearheading the bid tell me where will they get the resources? London's tax-payers now has to dig into their pocket just to pay for the whopping £9.3billions* (Php837billions). Yes, Pinoys can probably build it a lot cheaper than the Brits, but what about the corruptions? We can't ever build our own airport without scandals for goodness sake, let alone an Olympic stadium.

No way will the Phil be awarded the 2024 Olympics....for a number of reasons:
1) lack of infrastructure
2) pollution
3) lack of funds
4) inexperience of holding a similar event of the same magnitude |

I don't think so. I don't believe olympics is the answer for all the problems in our country. |

that idea sounds very nice!
but then,
i believe that our country must first resolve our economic problems, before thinking about sponsoring for super major events. |

NO way mate. All the people who would come here would get ripped off and the Girlie Bars would get closed down. Plus I'm sure the Abu Sayaf would have a field day with bombs going off everywhere. I don't think the Philippines would be able to host the Olympics for a really really long time. |

i dont think so.. we even dont have a place for that event.. |

i dont think so and i dont believe the Philippines needs or can afford to spend billions on something like the Olympics. |

As for me, we should be optimistic in bringing home the 33rd Olympiad! |

why not...there's still time to improve all the facilities and infrastructure here... |

I don't see why not but does the Philippines really want / need the Olympics... 2012 Olympics in London no one in the UK cares most just think that its a waste of tax payers money £900 Million last I heard! God knows we pay enough tax here already... |

Maybe mate.... Phil's have already hosted SEA and ASIAN games, maybe Olympics will be an icing in the cake...
But think of the expenses/budget, looking at the London budget for 2012 olympics is around a staggering 3billion (UK)pounds - thats 30,000,000,000billion in pesos. Can Phil's afford it? I know there are loads of sponsors and television rights all over the world.....
But looking at the Phil's sports facilities and athletes accommodations, is far worst than the other countries, that's why the budget is reasonable...
If Phil's can have it and can afford it, why not... Good luck Phil's, it will be a big milestone for Phil's if it happens, small country but rich in natural resources. |

It's quite possible. Philippines can be in a very different situation over a decade later. It can't get any worse now. But you have to look at other cities. If Paris will not win any of the previous bids, chances are greater for them to win 2024. Only if something amazing happens in the Philippines... |
