everything is possible. remember, if they build it, they (the tourists) will come!

I frankly do not think so.
Even the Hongkong Disneyland, which is a lot less expensive than its US counterparts, charges an entrance fee of Hongkong $ 295 [1,712.45 PHP] per adult, on a normal day, and $ 350 [2,031.71 PHP] on public holidays. There are seperate extra charges, for most of the 'special' shows in offer, and eats cost 50%-75% more inside.
How many average citizens could afford to spend this much, for a day's fun ? And there are not that many tourists [with kids and family] who visit Philippines all throughout the year - to do the spending either !
So, I do not think that Disneyland would set up shop in the Philippines. |

There's a disney in Japan, and HK, and I think maybe one day we'll have Disney in Shanghai China--with a billion population it seems reasonable. In the PI, its unlikely. The nation only really has two major parks, enchangted kingdom and star, and neither are prospering. Another issue is that Disney's attract toursits and need a hugh intrastructure to support the tourism. Sad to say the Philippines is unlikely to meet this demand on several points. Finally, Disney's are built in places where the population can afford it--at about P 2000 per person I think that Disney will be busy on coupon days, but otherwise only have tourists. An example we can use is the failure of Sentosa in Singapore, which relied heavily on tourists and seemed to be unable to get them to come for the park alone. |

Most the people in PI don't have enough money for a piece of bread to eat for their next meal. You think they are going to spend one months pay to ride on a splashy water-go-round for 4 minutes? Get real. Thats about what those stupid things cost ya know. The ones who can afford such crap are so few, the place would be a ghost town. |

Not likely, It's hard to find a good location here to build one and besides, Disney would want the place easily accessible. HK has its MRT that goes from the airport to the central district in just a few minutes which on a cab ride or bus would take 2 hours. If we can't get the MRT be efficent & accessible, I don't think people would appreciate the fact that its gonna be hard for them to get to go Disneyland that is located outside Manila.
EK is not bad, just wish it doesn't close its rides too often there are still rides there that I haven't been on. And some of their attraction cost extra. I paid around 700 peso on an theme park in Malaysia. I even got to ride on the go-karts at no extra cost, plus they have more rides and other thrilling rides that made my head hurt. |

I think there are still a lot of more important things to pour such great amount of money into. Besides, EK's not that bad, don't you think? =) |

I think it's possible, should we start petitioning Disney to set up shop?
Not in Manila unless it's a completely indoor Disneyland, maybe in Laguna or even near Tagaytay. |

No...its an island and its way too small. Plus, some people wouldnt be able to afford it, so the business wouldnt prosper. Even though I love disneyland/world, I like having one in the US better than traveling to another countrry to visit it. |
