Yes dahling. Not only do they get offended, some are vindictive to the bone especially if you point out their deficiencies.
And mostly recently, I've had a stalker (This brat of a girl) who reports all my answers as abusive. And for what? Me, telling her to quit her laziness and do her own research instead of having yappers doing her assignments for her, and that is only a brat. What more some adults? I've heard some top contributors had their accounts suspended because of no-do-gooders who have nothing but malice in their you-know-whatses.
I admit I may be a little bit abrasive, but hey, this is the real world and at times, the truth does hurt. You can't be sheltered forever dahling. You just have to roll with the punches as I say.
As for me, I don't get offended easily dahling, I am humble to admit when I am wrong, and get even when I get bullied. |

yes filipinos get offended easily maybe because we are told not to be straightforward with anyone and we are used to it.its a unwritten law so when someone talk straight to our face we take it as offensive remarks even the statement is true...kulturang pinoy! |

filipinos take offense sure, but do they get easily offended as compared to others... i dont think so.
but filipinos, just like any other culture are offended when their culture, their country, their looks, their faith, their weaknesses or their family or family background are attacked.
& if we can do a side-by-side comparison, filipinos might be just about average.
if you have travelled to several countries, you would find that there are other people out there that really could get offended at even the most ridiculous things... |

As a Filipino, I don't take things personally, like when people say "ang taba taba mo na!" during family reunions, or "bakit wala ka paring boyfriend/asawa," etc.. these things are common and part of Filipino culture to be nosy I think.
However, in , I get offended when common courtesies are not extended. Like, when you send a cake for your birthday blowout for a particular department, and not receiving a "happy birthday" or "thank you" from anyone, not being included in the loop on important discussions, etc.
Ps. hindi ako mataba ha! I think that fat people can be self conscious about their weight and have this tendency to project to other people. Most of the people who would give these "mataba" comments are usually from fat matrona titas. |

I think that most people, Filipino's included, can take constructive criticism but when that criticism is unwarranted or continuously meted out they, like most other people, do get offended |

I think so especially if the other person is also a Filipino. |

Yes, the common Filipino is sensitive. Generally, Filipinos are wary of foreigners. They have an impression (perhaps due to colonial experience) that the foreigners have the intention of always trying to get the best of them. They may seem nice and hospitable to you but for sure, unconsciously maybe, they are weighing everything that you say and do. |

not just filipinos... some take criticisms objectively some are reactive on them..
it depends how things are said and how it is understood.. if its constructive or not..
it really depends on the individual not because of the race |

Grace, I think it's not an inherent Filipino trait; more like an individual thing. As we all know, there some individuals more sensitive than others. Take for instance someone with a low self-esteem, surely the slightest of "negative" comment (rude or not) would most likely rub him the wrong way. We all have different psychological make-up so we all react differently to situations. |

I don´t think race has anything to do with getting offended, it´s just that Filipinos are more intouch with their emotions, and can get very conscious easily, but u know what it does depend on the person really! |

Yes but we will not tell the person who offended us. He will just know when the other person's no longer talking to him. |

Nope, Filipinos are patient compared to other foreigners. foreigners don't like to repeat themselves especially when giving out important informations. we don't take things too personal either. |
