Famous? We already are in terms of corruption and a lady president whose iron grip rips the country apart.

We can be famous in a good way if we try to promote tourism and cultural heritage. If we do a step towards the improvement of the society rather than our own self interest. If we can remove corruption and red tape in the government. The we will be able to eradicate poverty, and take our country one step to success.

1997 on the onslaught of the currency crises, Filipinos bought more dollar to lock in profit. Koreans on the other hand sold dollars and their gold in order to help the government maintain the value of "won". Filipinos on the other hand look into themselves for a quick profit. This simple comparison would led us to think why our country could not be progressive.

Yes. If the Philippines can get rid of corrupt baranggay captains, mayors, congressman,governors, senators and the NPA , KMU, Gabriella , and other terrorist groups like Abbu Sayyaf.

i believe we already are famous...specially when it comes to talents (singers, dancers an even actors) that really shocked the world...

also when it comes to partnership with some US company's like callcenters among any other asian countries...

We are already famous. It just depends on which angle you are looking from. If towards the Arts, we have Lea Salonga, Charice Pempengco, and the like. Politics, we have Rizal among others. Historical significance, we have World War I & II stories. Corruption, well we have Marcos in Guinness World Record. We are part of Lander Module used on the Moon, the Invention of Incubator, Karaoke, Florescent Bulb, and others.

Seriously what makes us famous doesn't mean much if we couldn't take pride in calling ourselves properly as Filipinos than just some street insignificant name Pinoy. Will being popular change our current lifestyle... I guess no. Unless we as ONE people take pride to adhere to a sense of dignity and pride, to not corrupt our officials and for officials not to corrupt themselves. Heed to the crying and dying needs of people who get their meals from spoiled food at dumpsters.

To learn that we should not multiple like rabbits, not to be angry with USAID for not giving us condoms, that we individually and collectively must take Responsibility and Act Responsibly. To learn reason before we profess reason, Listen before being heard.

Is it within our time. Man can only hope for a better tomorrow, even if tomorrow never come. Failure is always a choice.

Personally, I don't want it to be as popular as the USA, or other famous countries.

If that happens, everyone will go there and every inch in the islands would be occupied! Now, where does that leave me?

The Philippines is a beautiful country with many things to offer and I had a great time when I went and really would like to go back again.
