The Philippines is a paradise, man.

The Philippines has produced heroes, great leaders, intelligent professionals, and successful business leaders. But it is probably one of the worst countries in the world today in terms of graft and corruption in government and private sectors.

The country abounds with beautiful and scenic places - mountain resorts, rivers, and very long stretches of beaches. But at the same time there are many ugly places in the cities teeming with squalid squatters in ghettos.

Metro Manila is one of the most densely populated cities in the world. Modern skyways, skyscrapers, and mall are all over the big city. Marikina is considered the cleanest city there. But spend a week around and in Metro Manila. And you won't probably withstand the traffic congestion, air and sound pollution.

My answer to your question is yes and no.

Definitely, yes. I had been to San Francisco, San Diego, LA, Hongkong, Nevada! These are world famous cities but there is really no place like home.
I cried when I had my first Christmas in San Francisco! It was my first Christmas away from home, away from my family!
I definitely missed the noise of the Philippines, the jeepneys, the people on the streets! The song Manila by Hotdogs is really true!

of course philippines is a great country. People here are hospitable. Nature is very nice.
But the government? not so good.

It depends on the criteria. There are lots of beautiful tourist spots (white-sand beaches, island, waterfalls, marine sanctuaries, etc.) & rich in culture & the foods are great. (- -,)

It's a nice country with nice people. There are some defficiencies but there's only a few more of them than I have fingers and toes. In short it's good enough for me to stay here.
