Remember Back to the Future the movie. Back in the day they asked the same question about products that said Made in Japan. I remember those days vividly. |

It is as good as the company who had the products made in China. There are a lots of products made in China under well known brands such as Mattel, Panasonic, etc. Ultimately, it is the responsibility of these name brand companies to manage and monitor production and quality. They need to setup quality control measure and testing mechanism. The responsibility is not just with the Chinese factories but with companies like Mattel, etc. It is also consumer's responsibility to demand quality products. The American consumers are so infactuated with cheap prices. You get what you pay for. So, what do you expect... Then, those big name-brand companies are so busy trying to improve the bottom line so that the executives can get big fat options and bonuses. It doesn't matter where a product is made and it can be made in the USA. But, if companies do not have proper management and reviews to ensure safety of products for the consumer, we shouldn't buy from those companies. Blaming China or India or someone else is passing the buck and not facing up to the responsibility. They need to be proactive and not just do "enough". Shouldn't the big companies do random testing on products they're importing and distributing. It is what I called product responsibility. |

On the whole yes. There have been a few scares of late but that is the US sabre rattling due to cheap imports and its trade deficit!! |
|

NO! and I'm boycotting Chinese imports anyway. The country treats animals horribly....and I just can't support a country where such abuse occurs on the open streets. Just look what they did to our animal food a few months ago.....poisonous fillers. Enough said. |

Who knows at this point? I don't trust anything that is made in China. Are we poisoning our kids, our animals or ourselves!! Toothpaste, dogfood, cat food, children's toys, even Barbie!! What next!! Made in the USA will do just fine, thank you!! |
