I've often wondered this, but I think it's because I'm looking at it from the wrong angle.

For instance, if a bird loses a foot in a fight with a cat, that's an environmental influence, not a genetic one. Therefore that bird's off spring will have both feet at birth.

I never understood how the finches with the 'surviving' beaks would pass that on, because I thought the beaks were a product of the environment, but if those birds just-so-happened to have smaller beaks, then that genetic trait, like being short, or tall, or skinny, or fat, would be passed on.

So, I guess it does make sense after all. Now, it's the Nature Vs. Nurture argument that throws me off!!

No. Charles Darwin was a racist who developped that theory to justify colonialism and supremacy of whites over other races.

Theories are not 'right' or 'wrong'. They are measured based on how useful they are. The theory of evolution helps to explain a lot of things we find in nature, the relationship between different species of animals. It's useful in the study of biology and even helps us understand ourselves better.

Evolution, like all science, is based on observation and evidence. No scientific idea is considered -truth-, only the best idea we have based on existing evidence, and it can be re-examined if new evidence comes up. There are no absolute truths in science. The only place you find absolute truths is in religion!

Science and religion are two different kinds of thought. They both are important in their own place, but they make poor substitutes for one another.

Yes but there are people who still look like apes, especially those aboriginies and also the politicians who has never evolved after being elected. Instead they have become like apes in Parliament. Maybe their wives chain them at home.

Anyway, although humans are not descended from modern apes, such as chimpanzees or gorillas, we all share a common ape ancestor. Modern DNA studies show that our line separated from that of the modern apes between 6 and 8 million years ago.

hello kitty cat. your picture very nice I like very much. Got lying down like that haiyoh so cute one. What is evolution ah? My teacher only teach me convention or convection something like that. Are they the same? If they are I think it is a great theory because my girlfriend told me you can do many things at the convention centre. Got many places to play hide and seek and get naughty maybe good for couples in love. So yes I will vote for evolution.

Sure you may've also heard of SOo,`called theories as`far as the Bible !?! that could leave some leaning one way or the other !?! the difference is the WRITTEN things found that would go with events found to prove that atleast like events had taken place !! etc...
