Yes, I think there is good life anywhere we are as long as we know the true definition of life.
"Fear less, hope more;
Whine less, breathe more;
Talk less, say more;
Hate less, love more;
And all good things are yours." - A swedish proverb
I think if we could achieve this, then living in the Philippines is a good life at all. |

It depends what you mean by good life. Every person has it's own criteria. But, yes, you can have a good life there. If it means having meals three times a day and having relatives and friends around you.
If not for some pressing factors, everybody or majority will still prefer to live in the Philippines. |

yap.. sometimes we seek greener pasture but only as temporary. by heart, there's no place like home so that eventually retiring with good ol' friends & family around are always worth staying...if one should know how to live simplier & enjoys life just by itself. miss ko na un ha... |

For the rich and famous here, yes life is absolutely good in this part of the world, you can party 24/7, shop your heart away, or simply live like a royalty if you have the means. So Avidfilipino's answer goes to show that she belongs to the marginalized group of people, she never saw or lived the good life in the Philippines. |

I am a U.S. Citizen on a limited pension from the police dept. in the states. I moved to the Philippines in January 2004, lived here a year in 1994-95 and married in the Philippines in December 2004.
I provide our ministry, and living with my pension. We rent an American style 2 bedroom apartment for only $65.00 per month.
My wife has heart decease and takes medication, I take meds also.
We eat fine and live fine and are still able to help others at times ( handing out money to everyone makes you look like a fool, ) even if I had it I would not do that.
YES! A GOOD LIFE CAN BE HAD, ONCE YOU GET OVER CRYING FOR THOSE YOU CAN NOT HELP. (I am not joking about this). |

yes, we just have to think positively.. even if there are fallbacks, just learn from our mistakes and move on.. if all of us will think positive, the outcome will also be positive.. |

yes there is! why shouldn't there be?
life is good. no matter how you guys see it. extreme difficulties will always be on our way. but philippines alone has a lot to offer. simple living is still good and it is still considered as life. |

hmm, there is still good life in the Philippines. The only thing is that there are so many opportunities abroad that Philippines cannot give. And hey, we are not the only country who's experiencing a lot of problems. Come on, look at the bright side. It's up to one's capability to make his life a better one, don't blame it much for your country. One can make a difference, if you know how to go with life, you'll be able to succeed and have a good life! |

Life is good - it depends according to the person and his sourrondings and situation and how he deals with all these |

With a little hard work, patience, and a positive attitude it will always be good. Though if your from the US or any other First World country for that matter, you might find limited job opportunities over here. Let's face it people our country's not gonna be rich overnight. Life is a lot simpler here compared to those in more 'advanced' countries. Also in the Philippines, I feel dat we Filipinos are more decent compared to other countries.
However, if you want ur life here to be more than just good. Try helping the ones who have a hard time just being able to live. |

It wouldn't be life as we know if in the US (if you are from the US), but it could be good. You would just have to adjust to a different way of life. |

Yes. We could still take breathers and not "work like dogs" - although of course we could use some benefits - like lower cost of commodities, clean environment in the urban areas, better governance, etc. However poor we may compare ourselves to developed countries, we can just take a look at the situation in war-torn areas and sigh with relief that somehow, yes, we are still better off. |

Life is not a bed of roses here in the Philippines but after being in California , I would definitely love being back here.
We have cheaper foods than Hongkong! Majority of the households in the middle class families have maids and in some cases, drivers!
Means of transportation is very accessible anytime in most places! |

aah, the good life... Where else can you see almost everyone with their own maid? No one uses a washing machine, they just pay the washing lady. Your child can have his/her own yaya/nanny. Even retirees get their own caregivers and if they are rich, a place on the beach. |

If good life means being with your family, relatives, and the person you love..then, you can consider it.
Im in the Philippines, and honestly, life is difficult here. Dirty politics, pollution, and poverty is everywhere. But, I will never leave this country. Home is where your heart is, always.. |

My mom and Dad were raised there...life IS prety hard over there. There used to be these two orphan kids that used to be pacing around the front of the house and just...yeah. Well I think its some sort of 'world' country 3rd I'm guessing? |

of course.Life is good in the Philippines only if you dont ask for too much.Philippines may not offer the best of jobs you ever dreamed of or a fat paycheck at the end of the month,but as long as you are content with what you have and what you will get then you can enjoy your life! |

Absolutely not, I'm originally from the Philippines and most of it is poverty and disease. . .it's a third world country that I hope will change in the near future. . .the only area that is decent enough for a stable living condition is it's capital, Manila and areas around that city. . .otherwise, the whole country is depressing. . .I'm glad I live in the U.S. but I'll try my best to change my hometown. . .there's pollution in the air and all you're breathing is smog. . .people fight to stay alive and to sustain their families |
