Respect, yes but trusting is another thing whether they are muslim or christian, brother or not. I have so many muslim friends here in Mindanao that I respect, and they were they who said not to trust too much the muslims.

windblown
Yes. There's nothing wrong trusting a person regardless of their race, religion and the likes.

Regards.

CDOguide
This is a common misconception of Mindanao. There are more Muslims in Mindanao than in any island in the Philippines BUT they are not a majority. Most of the inhabitants of Mindanao are Christians.

Trust them? It depends. There are good and bad people whether they be a Muslim, Catholic or Protestant. I am from Mindanao. I deal with them like ordinary people. However, you have to consider their culture. They do things differently. You have to compromise a bit to avoid conflicts. In fact I have more problems with Manila based people (especially those poor Manila folks who go to Mindanao and feels like superstars) who sometimes refuse to respect local culture.

yes i do. they're still people regardless of their religion. why should they be any different?

i go loony
I do and there's no reason why I shouldn't. I can only lose trust and respect to people who did something bad no matter what religion they belong.

of course i do. they're our brothers. i do respect them, whatever beliefs and ideals they have.

I really abhor some people's generalizations about Moslems. I'm sure that they are like normal Christians regardless of religion. They make mistakes like any normal person. If one encounters a Moslem and was duped by him, he must not extend this belief to other Moslems. I trust my fellow Filipinos from Mindanao and they don't give me reasons not to do so.

?Cleopatra?
Yeah. Why not? They are also humans like us.

DigiadmanSQ
Always put your faith in someone. If they let you down then they show their true colors. But you should never judge someone on their looks, etc.

sheer♥black
I have muslim friends and they're good people like the rest of my friends. That's what matters most.

Remember...the Philippines was a predominantly MUSLIM country before the Spanish missionaries began converting your great grandpas to Christianity.

The region of Mindanao has higher number of Muslims as compared to Luzon or Visayas since they refused to accept Spanish or any other foreign rule and fought against occupation.

Trust Muslims...ANYDAY. They are more trustworthy than some Roman Catholic, INC, Born Again, El Shaddai, Jehovah's Witnesses, 7th Day Adventists and other fragments of our religion, whom I know. As a Christian & as a human, I trust Muslims.

battgirl
You give trust to someone who earns it regardless of race, gender and religious belief. Why not the muslims then?

trust should be earned and not on the basis of ones religion.

Yes they are trustworthy people. Let us not make beliefs be the gap for us Filipinos.

yeah, they're welcome for me. i don't know for them if they accepted christian brothers or sisters.

john
well i should. I'm in KSA right now and majority are muslims. And as i stayed here for about 4 months now, there is no reason for me not to trust them. except for a few i think.

edit:
Just like how dealt with my fellow christian. Mostly I trust, but still some are not worthy to gain my trust...

Why judge a book by its cover? I had seen alot of Catholics in name only. They only do good infront of other people but not at their back. They usually pray the rosaries but say bad words to their helpers. They usually do medical mission for the sake of picture taking to be shown in medical associations and used in political careers. I had a Catholic teacher who wants me to falsify records! There are Catholics with illegal wives, for Muslims, it is legal to them. After all the things I had seen, why wont I trust our Muslim brothers, they might be better people.
